Centre for Health Economic Research at Uppsala University is seeking a research assistant for a fixed-term position of 3 months, with placement at the Department of Medical Sciences.
The Centre for Health Economic Research at Uppsala University is an interdisciplinary research centre focused on the efficient use of resources in healthcare and the improvement of population health. The centre is a collaboration between the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Faculty of Social Sciences building on a cross-disciplinary perspective to combine different competences. The ambition is to break new ground in the centre's research areas.
The Department of Medical Sciences is a large clinical department with approximately 250 employees and over 900 affiliated individuals through Uppsala University Hospital. The department has a broad research profile with strong research groups in a variety of fields. Research is conducted in close collaboration with the clinical activities at the University Hospital and encompasses both studies on the causes of disease and the development and evaluation of improved diagnostics and new treatment methods. Duties
We are looking for a research assistant for a 3-month fixed-term position at the Centre for Health Economic Research. Under supervision, you will assist in various research projects within the centre, as well as administrative tasks related to both the projects and the centre itself. As a research assistant, you will work closely with researchers, supporting them in tasks ranging from data collection and data management, to more advanced econometric and statistical analysis in projects using large register-based datasets.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a master’s degree with a focus on quantitative analysis, for example in economics. Very good skills in English are required, as well as a genuine interest in research, health economics and societal issues. Applicants must also be knowledgeable in microeconometric methods using microdata and have experience working with quantitative data. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities such as collaboration and initiative, flexibility, and the ability to independently analyze data.
Desirable/Additional qualifications
Experience with software such as R and Stata, as well as experience in summarizing institutional conditions, is highly valuable.
About the employment
The position is a fixed-term employment for 3 months. The position is full-time (100%) with a starting date of July 1, 2026 or as agreed. The position is placed at the Department of Medical Sciences, with the workplace located at the Centre for Health Economic Research in Uppsala. Individual salary setting applies.
