Founded in 2015, Froda's mission is to democratize access to financing, giving small businesses the same growth opportunities as large ones. Through digital innovation, we've transformed the loan process from months to minutes, offering fair, fast, and accessible financing. Now, through embedded lending, we're integrating our technology with global banks and fintechs, building the next generation of lending infrastructure. Join us in creating opportunities for small businesses to invest in their ideas to the best possible terms.
As AML Expert Lead, you'll be a senior subject-matter expert who shapes how AML works at Froda in practice. You'll develop and maintain our customer and partner due diligence frameworks, translate regulatory requirements into operational processes and controls, and ensure that new products, partners and markets are assessed and designed for compliance from the start, always with a commercial mindset for making things efficient and scalable without compromising on control.
Your output is the frameworks, process designs, impact analyses and requirements that Froda runs on. You work closely with Product, Tech and Commercial as the primary AML voice in cross-functional initiatives, and you keep our setup fit for growth as Froda expands across Europe.
Lead the development of our Customer Due Diligence framework, including instructions, models and tooling, across CDD, EDD and ODD, all markets and the full customer life cycle, enabling compliant, risk-based and scalable processes.
Lead our partner due diligence framework, continuously improving how partners are assessed and monitored, defining the standards and requirements that govern partner AML risk management, and supporting or sometimes carrying out assessments directly where complexity or newness requires senior involvement.
Assess new products, partnerships and markets from an AML perspective, and take an active role in cross-functional initiatives, not just setting requirements and recommendations, but co-owning the outcome, driving the AML workstream through to implementation and ensuring the solution works end to end.
Draft and maintain key risk assessments across the AML function, including the Business-Wide Risk Assessment (BWRA) and the sanctions risk assessment, keeping the risk profile accurate and connected to how controls are designed and calibrated across products, partners and markets.
Translate regulatory requirements into operational processes, models and data needs, keeping our AML setup scalable as we expand across Europe.
You are energised by complexity and enjoy figuring out how things should work, solving problems that sit across regulatory, operational, technical and commercial dimensions, and building solutions that enable the organisation to move forward with confidence. You communicate complex topics with ease, to product teams, commercial stakeholders, management, regulators and partners, and you drive things forward through the quality of your analysis, your recommendations and your ability to bring others along.
5+ years of experience in AML within fintech, BaaS or payments, or equivalent experience at a senior level such as AML function lead, consultancy or similar.
Deep expertise in CDD/EDD/ODD, partner and third-party risk, and a proven track record of building and improving frameworks, instructions and processes, not just running them.
Experience acting as an AML stakeholder in cross-functional settings: setting requirements, challenging commercial and product decisions constructively, and producing clear recommendations for decision-makers.
Experience across multiple European markets. A background in embedded finance, BaaS or platform lending contexts is a plus.
Fluency in English and Swedish is required, while proficiency in other Nordic languages, French, Italian, or Spanish is considered a plus.
At Froda, you'll be part of a company that combines the best of both worlds, a fast-moving, high-energy culture with the stability and structure to support long-term success. We're 100+ ambitious self-starters who genuinely care for each other and the work we do, all while having fun together.
In this role, you'll sit at the heart of how Froda manages AML risk as we scale across Europe. You'll be the person who builds and maintains the frameworks the AML function runs on, work closely with senior stakeholders across product, commercial and compliance, and have a direct impact on how we grow compliantly into new markets, products and partner models.
