0TO9 is a fintech venture builder and investor, Europe's bank for entrepreneurship. We give founders the infrastructure, capital, compliance, and team they need to launch and scale financial products across the Nordics and Germany.
As Senior Legal Counsel, you'll be embedded in the business, advising portfolio companies and group functions on financial regulation, AML/CFT, licensing, commercial agreements, and corporate governance. Good legal advice in fintech means making things possible, not just safe. You won't be writing memos for the shelf. Everything you touch ships.
Lead and execute AML/CFT risk assessments and own the design of robust compliance frameworks across our ventures, not just review, but build.
Drive license applications with Finansinspektionen and European regulators, from scoping through to authorization, with a deep understanding of what examiners look for.
Negotiate and draft complex commercial agreements: partnerships, vendor contracts, revenue-sharing arrangements, and intercompany frameworks.
Advise the business proactively on regulatory developments, DORA, AML6, PSD3, and the AMLR, and translate their impact into actionable guidance.
Support corporate governance across the group, including board materials, entity structuring, and jurisdiction-specific requirements in the Nordics and Germany.
Serve as a trusted, day-to-day legal partner to founders and operators, someone who solves problems, not just flags them.
You hold a law degree and have built your career in fintech, banking, or regulated financial services, n-house or at a firm with a genuine regulatory practice. You know your way around AML directives, PSD2/PSD3, and e-money regulation, and you follow Finansinspektionen without being told to. You own your work end-to-end, you're at your best when the playbook doesn't yet exist, and you see regulation not as a constraint to route around, but as a competitive advantage to master before others do.
5+ years post-qualification experience: You have worked as a qualified lawyer for at least five years after your degree, in-house, at a law firm, or at a financial authority. Fintech or regulated financial services is a hard requirement, not a preference.
Hands-on AML/CFT and regulatory experience: You've run or significantly contributed to AML risk assessments, compliance program buildouts, or regulatory interactions, not just reviewed them for sign-off.
Nordic regulatory fluency: You understand the Swedish and broader Nordic regulatory landscape for financial services. Experience with Finansinspektionen is strongly valued.
Commercial maturity: You know when to push back and when to find a path forward. You translate legal complexity into business clarity, and you're comfortable presenting that directly to founders and the C-suite.
Swedish and English fluency: You work in both languages with equal confidence, regulatory filings in Swedish, cross-border work in English.
You'll be advising across the full group, ventures at different stages, in different jurisdictions, with different regulatory profiles. No two weeks are the same.
Proximity to the business: You'll work directly with founders and senior leadership. Your advice shapes decisions, not just documentation.
A place to build: We're growing fast across Sweden and Germany. If you want to grow into a Head of Legal or GC role, the path is here and it's short.
