The Swedish Club is looking for an experienced Privacy Counsel to join our Corporate Legal team. In this role, you will lead and drive the Club's global data privacy program, ensuring that privacy and data protection are effectively embedded across our business operations, processes, and decision-making.
This is an opportunity for a pragmatic and business-oriented privacy professional who combines strong legal expertise with a hands-on approach. We are looking for someone who not only understands privacy regulations but also knows how to translate legal requirements into practical solutions, drive implementation, and create lasting change across an international organisation.
As Privacy Counsel, you will be responsible for owning and developing the Club's global data privacy program. You will work closely with the Chief Legal Officer, IT, People & Culture, and business stakeholders across our global offices to ensure privacy requirements are effectively implemented and maintained.
You will act as the primary advisor and point of contact for privacy-related matters across the organisation while promoting a strong privacy culture and driving privacy initiatives from concept to implementation.
This is a highly operational role. Success in this position requires demonstrated experience implementing privacy requirements within business operations and driving change across an organisation. Candidates whose experience is limited to providing legal advice without ownership of implementation may not be the right fit for this role.
You will report to the Chief Legal Officer and collaborate with colleagues across our offices worldwide.
Own and develop the Club's global data privacy program, including policies, standards, governance activities, training, and awareness initiatives.
Drive and support the implementation of privacy requirements across business operations, projects, systems, and processes.
Partner closely with the Data Protection Officer and support privacy risk management, privacy assessments, remediation activities, and compliance monitoring.
Contribute to incident management, regulatory interactions, audits, and responses to data subject requests if and when required.
Importantly, you are someone who gets things done. You build strong relationships across the organisation, influence stakeholders at all levels, and successfully drive implementation - even when faced with competing priorities, limited resources, or resistance to change. Last, but not least, you thrive working in an international setting with colleagues from across the globe.
Qualifications and experience
Experience owning or managing privacy programs, governance frameworks, policies, training, and awareness initiatives.
Proven experience working operationally with privacy within a business environment, translating legal requirements into practical processes, controls, and day-to-day operations.
Experience working closely with information security, technology, AI governance, cloud services, or digital transformation initiatives.
