The department of Product development, production and design conducts education and research in areas such as product development, production development and industrial design. The department is responsible for five educational programs at Campus in Jönköping. In addition, the department is responsible for two education programs in Nässjö and Värnamo. The department has a strong engagement in the development of research and education within Knowledge Intensive Product Realisation which is a strategic area at Jönköping University.
The department has about 35 dedicated employees committed to advancing research and education in industrial product realization in close collaboration with industrial partners. Work tasks
As an Assistant Professor/Associate Senior Lecturer, you are expected to contribute to both research and education. The department is currently involved in several research and development projects related to industrial automation, digitalization, and future production systems in close collaboration with industry. Depending on your experience and interests, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing projects, develop your own research profile, and initiate and lead new externally funded projects. The position also includes teaching, supervision of student projects and theses at different levels, examination, and administrative duties.
Courses we expect you to contribute to may include areas such as applied industrial automation, automation and production technology, production development but also foundational courses in mechanical engineering.
We are looking for a candidate with:

a PhD in Automation Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or another field relevant to the position.
-
documented experience of industrial automation and/or industrial production systems.
-
skills in PLC programming (e.g., CODESYS, Siemens), robot programming (ABB, UR, etc.), industrial communication protocols and HMI/SCADA systems.
-
experience within simulation and modelling of production systems, including tools such as robot simulation software and virtual PLC/automation environments.
-
an interest in and documented experience of collaboration with industry.
-
a flexible and proactive approach, meaning you take initiative, structure and anchor your work.

strong collaborative skills and the ability to contribute to the long-term development of the department.

proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
