ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Lead Enterprise Architect to drive enterprise-wide architecture direction and ensure coherence across our digital landscape.
This role sits at the center of Digital Governance & Architecture and connects business strategy, technology, and execution across domains. You will improve decision quality, reduce complexity, and ensure scalable, resilient solutions through strong architecture leadership and governance.
You will remain hands-on in key architecture work, personally leading complex cross-domain decisions and trade-offs.

Set Enterprise Architecture Direction

Define EA direction, principles, standards, and ways of working

Translate strategy and transformation priorities into actionable architecture guidance
Lead Architecture Governance & Decision-Making

Lead and facilitate the Architecture Review Board (ARB)

Drive decision-making through clear trade-offs across value, cost, risk, and speed

Maintain decision records, follow-ups, and escalation
Drive Cross-Domain Coherence

Ensure the target architecture is actively used to guide decisions across business and technology

Lead complex architecture work spanning applications, data, integration, platforms, and security
Enable Early Architecture Engagement

Embed architecture in strategy, portfolio shaping, procurement, and major decisions

Reduce duplication, integration complexity, and late-stage rework
Manage Risk, Debt & Lifecycle

Ensure visibility and ownership of architecture risks, technical debt, and lifecycle
-
Manage architecture exceptions in line with enterprise guardrails
-
Connect architecture decisions to portfolio and investment processes
Build and Scale the EA Capability

Coordinate work across architecture domains and clarify ownership

Coach enterprise architects and federated roles

Establish community practices and reusable patterns

Support the continued evolution of the EA capability

Domain Expertise

Strong understanding of complex, global, asset-intensive environments (e.g. shipping, logistics, supply chain or similar)

Ability to connect business capabilities, processes, and operating models with technology and architecture decisions
Architecture & Technology

Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture practices, governance, and target architecture

Broad understanding across application, data, integration, cloud, platform, and security domains

Experience translating strategy into practical, reusable architecture artefacts

Ability to create pragmatic artefacts that support decisions and alignment
Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Strong stakeholder management with the ability to influence senior leaders
-
Clear communication of trade-offs, risks, and decisions
-
Experience leading decision forums and driving alignment across distributed teams
-
Ability to engage across governance forums, procurement, vendor management, and partners
Experience

10+ years in enterprise architecture, digital transformation, or senior architecture leadership

Experience leading architecture governance and cross-domain decision-making in complex environments
