Job Description
The Business Strategist plays a key role within the strategy & steering for the Commercial function, shaping the long-term direction and ensuring we focus on the areas that drive the greatest customer and business value. The role is responsible for translating H&M Customer Experience ambitions, regional needs, customer insights, and business priorities into a clear strategic direction, actionable roadmaps, and efficient governance structures.
By connecting strategy, performance, and execution across units, the Business Strategist ensures alignment, clarity, and progress toward the 3–5 year ambitions and strategic shifts for the Commercial function.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As Business Strategist, you work closely with function management and key stakeholders across Commerical and broader H&M. You drive key cross-functional strategic initiatives and ensure effective strategic steering.
Key responsibilities include:

Lead work to define direction for H&M Experience, key shifts, and facilitate unit ownership of the strategy

Drive cross-functional strategic initiatives, collaborating with key business functions

Securing alignment between overall strategy and totality of functions’ strategic initiatives

Lead and support steering and governance processes to ensure strategic priorities are executed effectively and progress is tracked

Work closely together with function management and key strategy stakeholders, ensuring prioritization in line with strategic direction

Develop a deep understanding of our business and be the person that can guide and empower the leaders in setting the right focus to ensure long-term objectives are met

You bring a proactive mindset and are confident in driving initiatives forward, committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.
Working closely with stakeholders at different levels, you understand their perspectives and priorities and adapt your approach to create alignment and clarity. You are comfortable influencing and challenging senior stakeholders when needed, guiding decision-making while maintaining focus on long-term objectives.

To succeed in this role, you also have:

3-5 years of experience with strategy- or business development, with a strong track record in shaping and implementing strategies

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complexity into clarity

Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.

Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and drive change without formal authority.

Strong understanding of the fashion retail industry, with deeper knowledge in either online or physical store environments.
