Lund University was founded in 1666 and is repeatedly ranked among the world’s top universities. The University has around 46 000 students and 8 500 staff based in Lund, Helsingborg and Malmö. We are united in our efforts to understand, explain and improve our world and the human condition.
Description of the work place
Diabetes has a major impact on brain function, and increases the risk of developing Parkinson’s disease (PD). Our research aims at understanding the molecular mechanisms linking the two diseases, and at identifying novel therapeutic approaches that can benefit parients with comorbid diabetes-PD.
The Diabetes and Brain Function lab at the Department of Experimental Medical Science is located at the BMC, and is active within different research environments of the Faculty of Medicine, namely the LUDC, WCMM, and Multipark.
The recruited researcher will be working on determining cellular mechanisms that regulate neurochemical processes involved in the diabetes-PD association.
We offer
We offer an atractive research environment, with close interactions with labs with expertise on diabetes research, neuroscience, and regenerative medicine.
