The Opportunity
At Hitachi Energy, we are driving the energy transition with digital innovation at the core of what we do. At our Surge Arresters unit in Ludvika, we are continuing our digital transformation journey and are now looking for a Software Engineer to join the team.
In this role, you will work close to both production and office teams, contributing to Industrial 4.0 initiatives in the factory while also helping improve internal processes through smart digital solutions. It is a hands-on role where you will get the opportunity to learn, experiment and grow within a supportive environment.
How You’ll Make an Impact
You will be involved in building and improving digital solutions across the unit. This includes both factory-related systems and tools supporting office processes.
Developing and maintaining software solutions across backend and frontend
Working with industrial systems such as SCADA, IoT platforms and cloud environments
Connecting systems and machines using protocols like OPC UA and MQTT
Supporting the team in identifying and implementing new digital opportunities
Contributing to data-driven initiatives, including analytics and AI based use cases
Documenting systems, configurations and ways of working to ensure long-term sustainability
Your Background
We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow within industrial digitalization.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a similar field
Experience within software development, industrial IT, automation or IoT
Knowledge in one or more programming languages such as Python, C# or Java
Experience working with databases and solid understanding of SQL
Basic understanding of cloud platforms, preferably Azure, and on-prem environments
An interest in industrial systems and how software can improve production and operations
A strong interest in modern AI and data-driven solutions, with a curiosity to explore how new technologies can be applied in an industrial environment
Most importantly, you are curious, proactive and enjoy working in a collaborative environment where you can make a real impact!
