JTH conducts research and teaching in computer science, computer engineering, and informatics. We have two growing departments in these areas, with approximately 50 employees. We invite applications for a postdoctoral researcher to join our research team in exploring the intersection of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) with a human-centered focus. The position is shared between the Cybersecurity and Privacy Research Group (CPR) and the Human-Centered Technology Group (HCT).
The position is focused on the intersection of Cybersecurity and AI within the project SAVIOR (AI-Supported Alert Validation for Industrial SOC (Security Operations Center) Response). SAVIOR focuses on reducing the need for manual communication during the validation process and post-incident analysis reporting within an end-to-end SOC ecosystem comprising a technology provider, a SOC operator, and SOC customers.
We are seeking a candidate with a strong publication record to conduct daring research in this interdisciplinary and fast-moving field.
Job description
You will conduct research during 80% of your time in some of the relevant areas mentioned, while the remaining 20% will be spent on teaching or other administrative duties in courses relevant to your competencies.

We are seeking a candidate who:

has been awarded a doctoral degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Cybersecurity, AI, Machine Learning (ML), Data Science, or another closely related subject, no more than three years before the application deadline;

has documented knowledge of AI and ML;
-
has demonstrated research experience in areas such as cybersecurity, AI-supported systems, data-driven security, or closely related fields;
-
has experience in implementing, evaluating, or applying AI/ML-based methods, for example, ML, generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, explainable AI, anomaly detection, or decision-support systems;
-
has a strong publication record relative to career stage;
-
has the ability to conduct independent research while also collaborating in interdisciplinary research environments.
It is meritorious if you:

have experience working with SOCs, SOC workflows, SOC data, alert validation, incident response, or post-incident analysis;

have experience in human-computer interaction, human-centered AI, explainable AI, or user-centered design;
-
have experience designing, conducting, and analysing empirical studies, for example, user studies, interviews, experiments, or field studies;
-
have experience collaborating with industry or other external stakeholders;
-
have a good ability to communicate in both spoken and written Swedish.
