The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer brings advanced expertise to the planning, development, and optimization of the IT infrastructure.
With a focus on scalability and security, the Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer leads significant infrastructure projects, mentors junior staff, and collaborates with other departments to ensure that the IT infrastructure supports the strategic goals of the organization.
This position includes on-call duties.
Responsibilities
Server Infrastructure Management
Plan and implement server infrastructure
Monitor server performance and security
Troubleshoot and resolve server issues
Implement server upgrades and improvements
Conduct server audits and assessments
Cloud Infrastructure Management
Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure
Monitor cloud performance and security
Troubleshoot and resolve cloud issues
Implement cloud upgrades and improvements
Conduct cloud audits and assessments
Data Center Management
Oversee data center operations
Ensure data center security and compliance
Implement disaster recovery plans
Manage hardware and software deployments
Conduct data center audits and assessments
Specific Competencies
Managing and patching Solaris OS, Solaris Cluster, and Oracle/Sun Sparc hardware
High level of knowledge in scripting, both shell and other dialects
Knowledge of Sun Studio
Experience operating and maintaining various Linux distributions
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, AND/OR solid experience within IT infrastructure
Strong expertise in Solaris OS, Solaris Cluster, and Oracle/Sun Sparc hardware
Good knowledge of IT security frameworks and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST)
Experience working with Linux environments
Proven ability to analyze security logs and identify suspicious activity
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
