We are looking for a Research engineer to join the Viral Vector Applications team in the Genomics Medicine OpCo at R&D in Uppsala. The section is made up by 20 researchers that are working in the areas of purification, filtration and analysis of viral vectors, plasmids, and nuclei acids, working with project development to get the right products to the customers. You will, as part of R&D, contribute to the development of new products which are used in the manufacturing of leading biological drugs. Your work will span all the way from idea generation to research and development as well as take an active part in troubleshooting of existing Cytiva processes.
What You'll Do:
As a Research engineer you will be a member of a team performing purification and analysis work within different projects in the nuclei acid R&D field. This work will be conducted in new product development, product care and market support projects with customer needs in focus.
You will be a part of a team working in different steps in the mRNA and oligo purification process i.e IVT, filtration, purification and analysis. This includes being involved in method development and method verification as well as maintaining instrumentation creating standard operating procedures.
It is important that the candidate can independently plan and perform the tasks in a structured way and report the results at project meeting and technical reports.
Who you are:
You are eager to learn and try new things and have a result-oriented, flexible and strong collaborative attitude.
You have a master’s degree MSc in biotechnology or similar, preferably with a few years of practical experience from in the biopharmaceutical field.
Additional experience of the use of different analysis methods (HPLC) is also advantageous
Interaction and communication with colleagues in this role are key and you should enjoy working in a flexible environment and have demonstrated abilities to work in a collaborative and customer focused environment. Strong presentation and communications skills as well as advanced English and basic Swedish skills (oral and writing) are also required.
