Reach for Change is a global non-profit founded in Sweden with a vision of a world where everyone can shape their own future. We support local social entrepreneurs developing innovative and sustainable solutions that improve the lives of children and young people. Since 2010, we have supported more than 2,000 social entrepreneurs across 18 countries and three continents.
This is a hands-on finance role sitting at the heart of Reach for Change's Swedish operations. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, you will own the full accounting cycle for our Swedish legal entity and subsidiaries, while partnering closely with colleagues across Europe on both organisational and donor-funded programs.
The role combines operational accounting, financial reporting, grant finance, budgeting, compliance, and business partnering. It is well suited to someone who wants genuine ownership of a finance function and finds purpose in work that has real social impact behind it.
Accounting & Financial Operations
Own day-to-day accounting: accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger
Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in line with Swedish accounting standards
Year-end closing (Årsbokslut) and statutory annual report (Årsredovisning)
Tax filings and compliance with Swedish statutory requirements
Lead the external audit process and donor audits when required
Maintain financial controls, routines, and supporting documentation
Act as the primary point of contact for accounting-related questions
Drive continuous improvement of the NetSuite ERP system and related tools
Budgeting, Reporting & Financial Oversight
Review and validate financial reporting, forecasts, and variance analysis prepared by the Project Controller
Ensure alignment between accounting records, budgets, and donor reporting
Provide financial guidance and training to non-finance colleagues across Europe
Support the Director of Finance and Operations on strategic planning and finance initiatives
We are looking for someone with:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
At least 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis. We are open to candidates earlier in their career who bring strong technical foundations and real ambition to grow into a role with full ownership
Strong knowledge of Swedish accounting regulations, tax legislation, and statutory reporting requirements (Årsredovisningslagen)
Advanced Excel skills and strong systems proficiency
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Fluency in both Swedish and English, written and spoken
It is a bonus if you have:
Experience from an NGO, non-profit, or international organisation is highly desirable
Experience working with grants, donor reporting, and restricted funding environments
Experience working with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is considered a strong advantage
Experience using AI tools to improve or streamline finance processes
We believe you are:
Structured and detail-oriented, with a high bar for accuracy
A self-starter who takes ownership and drives work independently
Analytical and solution-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Collaborative and adaptable in a fast-paced international environment
A strong communicator who can explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
Eager to grow with the role and motivated by work that creates real change
A finance function you can genuinely shape, not just maintain
Real international scope, with colleagues and programmes across Europe and Africa
A meaningful role creating positive social impact in an inclusive and entrepreneurial environment
High ownership and the opportunity to shape and improve finance processes
Professional development opportunities with a Director who is invested in your development
