This Position reports to:
R&D Team Lead
We are looking for an Electrical Safety Specialist to join our Robotics division and play a key role in ensuring that our robotic systems, robot cells, and automated machinery meet electrical safety requirements across European and North American markets.
In this role, you will act as a technical authority and trusted advisor, working closely with R&D, product development, testing, manufacturing, and external certification bodies. You will ensure that electrical risks are identified early, mitigated effectively, and clearly documented—enabling safe, compliant, and market-ready robotics solutions.
This is a collaborative and technically deep role with influence across the full product lifecycle, combining analytical work with occasional hands-on involvement.
Examples of your responsibilities:

Perform and support electrical safety risk assessments for robotic systems and machinery

Define and verify risk-reduction measures in both design and operational practices

Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations, including:

IEC / EN 60204-1
-
UL 1740, NFPA 79
-
Interpret standards and translate them into practical engineering requirements
-
Support internal and external audits, inspections, and certification activities
-
Contribute to compliance with related areas such as ISO 10218, EU Machinery Regulation/Directive, and EMC requirements

Review electrical designs, schematics, and layouts for safety compliance

Support R&D projects early in development to prevent late-stage redesign
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field

Solid experience working with electrical systems in industrial machinery or robotics
-
Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards (IEC, EN, UL, NFPA)

Ability to read and review electrical schematics and technical documentation
-
Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and safety stakeholders

Experience supporting certification or conformity assessment processes

Background in R&D or product development environments, as well as experience working in a global or multi-market context and with robot cells, industrial robots, or automated systems

Fluency in English (written and spoken), and preferably knowledge of Swedish or other languages
