We’re looking for a skilled and driven Lead Software Engineer with expertise in Telephony & Communications to join our Agile engineering team.
In this role, you will combine deep expertise in telephony and communication technologies with technical leadership. You will lead the design and delivery of mission-critical communication systems, mentor engineers, and help shape the future architecture of our telephony platform.
You’ll work closely with Product Owners, Architects, Development Managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient solutions used in real-world emergency response environments.
This is both a hands-on engineering role and a technical leadership position.
Your key responsibilities will be to:

Lead the technical design and development of complex telephony and communication systems.

Act as the technical authority for telephony-related architecture and engineering decisions.

Drive engineering best practices, coding standards, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Mentor and support engineers across the team, while fostering technical growth, knowledge sharing and roadmap planning.

Proactively identify technical risks, dependencies, bottlenecks, and technical debt.

Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for telephony and communications platforms.

Work with modern communication technologies and protocols including SIP, RTP, VoIP, PBX systems.

Develop scalable distributed services and real-time communication systems.

Participate in end-to-end system design from architecture through deployment and operational support.

Work closely with customers and partners to understand operational needs and translate them into robust technical solutions.

Troubleshoot and analyse complex communication flows.

Drive improvements in CI/CD, automation, observability, and Test Driven Development (TDD), Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).

Support Agile ways of working and contribute to continuous improvement and platform modernization

Technical Expertise

Strong experience with C# / .NET Core

Solid knowledge of SIP, RTP, VoIP, and telephony systems

Experience building distributed systems and microservices

Familiar with Docker, Linux, SQL, and Git

Experience with CI/CD tools and automated testing (TDD/BDD)

Skilled in troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark

Experience with Asterisk, Kamailio, or similar platforms
Leadership & Experience

10+ years of software engineering experience

Proven technical leadership or senior engineering experience

Strong understanding of scalable, real-time system architecture

Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
