The Global Headquarters for Volvo Financial Services is seeking an Enterprise Architecture Chapter Lead to lead the global team of Enterprise Architects within VFS Digital & IT.
As Chapter Lead, you are responsible for building and sustaining a high-performing Enterprise Architecture community, while acting as a role model in architectural excellence.
You will:

Build and maintain a high-performance team, fostering a culture of learning, development, and collaboration

Develop and guide individuals within the chapter to build the appropriate skills and capabilities

Support chapter members in their professional growth and help them navigate complex assignments

Meet regularly with architects to drive excellence in architectural practices, frameworks, and tools

Establish strong relationships with digital product owners and understand their capability needs

Share knowledge and actively stay up to date on innovations and trends in Enterprise Architecture

Manage capacity and ensure alignment with short- and long-term goals
At the same time, this role goes beyond people leadership. You are expected to act as a senior practitioner, setting the standard for architectural thinking, influencing direction, and contributing directly to critical initiatives.
As the Enterprise Architecture Chapter Lead, you will be part of VFS Digital & IT, which in partnership with Volvo Group brands facilitates the development of common services platforms supporting Volvo Group’s expansion.
The goal of this role is to ensure consistent, high-quality enterprise architecture across regions, markets, and initiatives, while continuously evolving the architectural landscape.
In this role, you will:
Drive Enterprise Architecture Direction

Define, evolve, and promote the enterprise architecture vision, principles, and frameworks

Ensure consistent architectural design regardless of region, market, or type of initiative

Support and evolve the existing architectural framework, taking it to the next level

Guide the organization towards scalable, cost-effective global solutions, aligned with the CAST model (Common Architecture, Shared Technology)
Act as a Senior Architect on Key Initiatives

Provide hands-on architectural guidance on complex and strategic initiatives

Contribute to and review solution designs and critical architecture decisions

Ensure adherence to best practices, standards, and target architecture

Balance long-term strategic direction with pragmatic delivery realities
Influence and Align Stakeholders

Engage with senior business and IT stakeholders across regions

Act as a trusted advisor, translating architectural direction into business value and outcomes

Drive alignment across domains, ensuring coherent enterprise-wide solutions

Lead and contribute to Design Authority and governance processes
Lead and Elevate the Architecture Practice

Lead the Enterprise Architecture Chapter as a community of experienced professionals

Act as a mentor and coach, guiding architects through real-world challenges

Set the bar for quality, consistency, and professionalism in architecture

Drive continuous improvement of tools, methods, and ways of working
You will report directly to the VP Architecture & Technology within VFS Digital & IT and lead a team of Enterprise Architects assigned to global, cross-functional teams.

You are a highly experienced Enterprise Architect with a strong track record in complex, global environments, combining deep expertise with the ability to influence and guide others.

Qualifications required for success

10–15+ years of experience in IT, including significant experience as an Enterprise Architect

Proven track record designing large-scale solutions in global organizations

Experience in enterprise-wide transformation programs

Strong knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and tools (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate)

Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and drive change across organizational boundaries
