The Senior Plastics Engineer, based at our Solna site, will be part of the Supplier Development Engineering organization. This role involves close collaboration with injection molding and tooling suppliers, as well as internal teams including engineering, quality, and supply chain.
The primary focus is on introducing new molds, sustaining production molds, troubleshooting issues, and driving supplier performance improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in injection molding (preferably tooling) and the interpersonal skills to work effectively across functions, combined with business acumen to understand the financial impact of improvement initiatives.
In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to:

Lead injection molding process development, optimization, and troubleshooting at molding suppliers.

Support mold validations (IQ, OQ, PQ) and ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA requirements.

Sustain plastics molding suppliers for production related engineering tasks not limited to troubleshooting quality issues, requalification's, supply continuity escalations, etc.

Perform root cause analysis for molding, resin & tooling issues as well support internal material investigation using six sigma tools.

Act as a technical SME for injection molding part design, processing, tooling and polymer resins.
The essential requirements of the job include:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Plastics, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field) with 5+ years of experience OR Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience in injection molding, processing, tooling, polymer resins and Moldflow simulation.

Scientific molding and cavity sensor technology experience highly desired.

Proven experience in medical device or healthcare manufacturing environments.

Hands-on experience with mold validations (IQ/OQ/PQ).

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex molding/tooling issues.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Working with global molding and tooling suppliers.

Contract manufacturing, especially in medical device applications.

Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Agile, and SAP.

Ability to read and interpret product Bill of Materials (BOM's).

CAD proficiency (SolidWorks preferred), GD&T interpretation.

Ability to work at Supplier sites and office environment
