Workplace Description
The research group is driven by a desire to understand how normal nervous system development can be used to gain insights into the initiation of cancer. We work in a transdisciplinary manner at the interface between developmental biology and cancer biology. The group is based at the Biomedical Centre (BMC) in Lund and is affiliated with the strategic research infrastructures the Lund Stem Cell Center (SCC) and Lund University Cancer Centre (LUCC).

We are now seeking a Laboratory Assistant for a fixed-term position at 50% of full-time employment for six months. The preferred start date is 1 September 2026.

Work duties and areas of responsibility
As a Laboratory Assistant, your work will primarily involve laboratory-based research activities, leading projects, and participating in scientific activities such as seminars and meetings.
Other duties may also be assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position:

A Master's degree in Molecular Biology or an equivalent field.

Documented experience of laboratory work, including cell culture, Western blotting, immunocytochemistry, in vivo modelling using chick embryos, and 3D microscopy.

Experience in analysing and processing research data using software such as GraphPad Prism, ImageJ, and R.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally both orally and in writing.

Experience of international collaboration and proficiency in English.

Ability to work independently, quickly acquire new skills and knowledge, and demonstrate strong motivation and commitment to research.

This is a fixed-term position, corresponding to 50% of full-time employment for six months. The preferred start date is 1 September 2026, or as agreed.
