Join our team in Stockholm and help business owners present their company in the best possible way to buyers and investors around the world.
As an M&A Analyst (IM Writer) you develop the marketing materials that carry a sale process. The most important of these is the Information Memorandum (IM): a comprehensive presentation of the business, its strategy, market position, financial performance and growth opportunities, written for potential buyers and investors.
No two companies are the same. One week you work on a fast-growing technology company, the next on a specialist healthcare business, a manufacturer or an international services provider. The role is intellectually challenging and varied, and it combines writing, analysis and M&A in a way few roles do.
About Benchmark International
Benchmark International is one of the world’s leading sell-side advisory firms. To date we have completed more than 1,700 company sales with a combined value of over USD 11 billion, and PitchBook ranks us the number one privately owned sell-side M&A advisor globally. We work exclusively on behalf of company owners, delivering bespoke exit strategies and international buyer reach through our proprietary sales transaction platform and a team of more than 400 specialists across 15 offices worldwide.
We opened our Stockholm office in 2026 and it now anchors our Nordic M&A practice, providing business owners across the region with access to the same platform, buyer network and processes used across the firm.
The role
To present a business well, you first have to understand it fully. You analyse company information, immerse yourself in different sectors and business models, interview owners and management teams, and work closely with the deal team. You then turn all of that into a clear, logical and persuasive story.
In practice, this means you:
- Develop Information Memoranda and other marketing materials for companies preparing for a sale process.
- Analyse companies and get to grips with different sectors, business models, markets and financial performance.
- Interview owners and management teams to understand the business, its strategy and its growth potential.
- Translate business and financial information into a clear, logical and persuasive Information Memorandum.
- Work closely with the deal team so that every marketing document is rigorous, current and compelling.
- Maintain a professional relationship with clients and guide them through the preparation of their materials.
What we are looking for
You are analytically strong, you enjoy writing, and you can turn complex business information into a clear and persuasive narrative. You are curious about how companies work, you ask the right questions, and you can structure large volumes of information quickly.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Fluent in Swedish and English, and able to write clearly, concisely and persuasively in both.
- Comfortable with numbers, and quick to grasp commercial and financial information.
- Curious and practical: you process large amounts of information fast, separate the essential from the incidental, and enjoy learning new sectors and business models.
- Structured and independent: you keep oversight of your work and are comfortable running several projects at once.
- Confident and professional in how you communicate, with clients as well as colleagues.
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Educated to university level. Your field of study matters less than how you think and work.
Experience in M&A, finance or consulting is not required. We welcome different backgrounds and are glad to invest in people who want to learn, take responsibility and grow.
What we offer
- A rare combination of writing and M&A. You pair language and storytelling with business analysis and commercial judgement.
- Real variety. You get a look behind the scenes at a wide range of companies and keep learning new sectors and business models.
- Direct contact with entrepreneurs. You work closely with the people who built the businesses you write about.
- Room to grow. You get close guidance, structured training and the opportunity to develop both technically and professionally.
- A professional working environment in central Stockholm, with space for focus and collaboration.
- Market-competitive compensation, including a bonus scheme.
