Job description
We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer specialized in Software Configuration and Release Management to join our team and support complex embedded software delivery activities within the automotive industry.
You will play a key role in managing software baselines, coordinating releases, ensuring documentation quality, and supporting the continuous improvement of software delivery processes. You will collaborate with various technical stakeholders across the product development lifecycle to ensure software releases are delivered with the expected quality, functionality, and compliance.
Your responsibilities:
Software baselines and releases
Define, create, maintain, and release software system baselines for different product classes, ensuring approved functionality, quality, and compliance with agreed timelines.
Manage software baseline activities according to delivery schedules and project requirements.
Prepare release documentation, including release notes, verification results, validation inputs, and release justifications.
Lead release review activities and ensure proper approval processes are followed.
Communicate software baseline decisions and secure required approvals before releases.
Release software baselines for verification activities and production environments.
Planning, documentation, and quality assurance
Ensure the quality and completeness of software baseline documentation and deliveries.
Create and maintain processes and documentation related to software releases.
Follow software releases through testing and verification activities.
Support software integration into complete product delivery packages.
Perform software breakdowns on project vehicles, verification environments, and test platforms.
Validate software information and coordinate corrections with relevant stakeholders when required.
Collaboration and continuous improvement
Support internal and external software campaigns related to software baselines.
Communicate software delivery status and product information across different teams.
Support and train software delivery teams on processes and tools.
Contribute to improving workflows, tools, and methods related to software deliveries, documentation, and release management.
Your profile
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or equivalent.
4+ years of experience in embedded software development within the automotive industry.
Experience with software configuration management and release processes.
Knowledge of software delivery flows, verification activities, and production software handling.
Experience with Volvo PDM logic is highly appreciated.
Strong knowledge of Software Configurator and SW ProTOM.
Knowledge of VDA standards.
Experience managing production and aftermarket software processes.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to quality and documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and cross-functional stakeholders.
Comfortable working independently while collaborating within a team environment.
Fluent in Swedish and English.

Salary range: From 46,667 SEK to 56,667 SEK
The stated salary falls within the established salary range for the position and is determined based on experience, skills, and level of responsibility, in accordance with our policy of fair and non-discriminatory compensation.
