About the Role
This is a role for an experienced automation project manager who is familiar of industrial automation deliveries. You will take responsibility for Balance of Plant (e.g. Water Treatments) Level 1 automation area — ensuring delivery according to schedule, budget, quality and safety standards. You will have support from your manager, other Technical Project managers and Automation engineers to success in this area. You will lead engineering together with our partner, execution, coordinate contractors and technical teams, manage risks and finances, and ensure strong governance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing automation projects from engineering to implementation, testing, and final handover, according to schedule, budget, quality and HSE requirements.
- Acting as the primary contact in your area between SSAB and suppliers, report progress and manage expectations.
- Lead and coordinate your area suppliers and coordinate works with other areas automation team members.
- Risk management, identifying potential project risks, safety issues, and operational bottlenecks, developing mitigation strategies.
- Secure alignment between Automation team and ensure clear reporting and decision-making.
- You have proven experience in project management and engineering, coordinating and possibly implementing Level 1 automation systems for large industrial projects, ideally in mill supporting plants e.g. Water Treatment, Process gas plants and their equipment.
You take ownership, make decisions and drive progress in demanding environments. You understand that successful project execution requires clarity, accountability and strong collaboration.

Who You Are
Qualifications
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Automation (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing large automation projects.
- Strong project governance and risk management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Fluent in English; Swedish is an advantage.
PMP certification is a merit.
