The Role
We are looking for an Engagement Manager with a strong fundraising and audience growth mindset to help expand and deepen Greenpeace’s global supporter base.
This role sits at the intersection of campaigning, engagement, marketing, and fundraising. You will work across the Greenpeace network to help design audience-centric engagement strategies and scale high-performing acquisition, conversion, and retention strategies that turn public interest into sustained support.
You will bring a strong marketing and performance mindset, using data, experimentation, and audience insights to unlock growth.

Lead the development of engagement strategies that directly contribute to fundraising growth on climate and energy campaigns, including donor acquisition, retention, and value optimisation in line with the Global Fundraising Strategy.

Support global project teams and National & Regional Organisations (NROs) to deliver ambitious income and growth targets through engagement on climate and energy in connection with the Global Fundraising Team and the Global Growth Committee.

Identify and scale high-performing fundraising and engagement opportunities across markets.

Embed audience segmentation, insights, and supporter journeys into climate and energy campaign design.

Ensure global campaigns are designed for engagement AND conversion, from first interaction to long-term supporter relationships.

Partner with teams to turn campaign moments into compelling fundraising opportunities and narratives.

Advise and improve conversion performance across digital channels (email, landing pages, social, paid media, donation flows) to drive engagement and income on climate and energy issues.

Champion a culture of testing, experimentation, and continuous optimisation (A/B testing, rapid experimentation, conversion tracking, test and learn cycles)

Support teams to use data and analytics to inform decisions and improve performance.
Design and promote best practices in end-to-end supporter journeys (acquisition engagement donation
- retention).

Help teams deepen relationships with supporters through personalised, meaningful engagement pathways.

Ensure campaigns are built with clear audience strategies and conversion goals

Define and track core growth KPIs (conversion rates, retention, ROI)

Translate data into clear strategic recommendations and actions

Support global projects to strengthen their use of systems and analytics

You are a growth-driven engagement strategist at heart, motivated by turning insight into impact. You understand how to convert audience attention into meaningful engagement and sustained financial support, and are excited to apply those skills to power real-world change.

Significant experience in digital fundraising, growth marketing, or audience development (nonprofit or mission-driven preferred)

Proven track record of delivering measurable growth in users, supporters, donors, or revenue

Strong expertise in: and supporter journeys, paid and owned digital channels (email, social, web, etc.), A/B testing and optimisation frameworks, Audience segmentation & CRM-driven marketing, and conversion rate optimisation.

Ability to connect storytelling and campaigning with fundraising performance

Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data to drive decisions

Ability to operate strategically while also being practical and execution-oriented

Experience influencing teams without direct authority and working across complex organisations

Passion for environmental and social justice issues

Skills and Qualifications

Significant expert-level experience.

A track record of delivering ambitious engagement strategies and high-level expertise in multiple engagement areas for challenging campaign subjects , (for ex channels, audience, storytelling, journey, Fundraising, volunteering, and movement building) including an in-depth understanding of a range of campaigning techniques and processes

High-level experience in a range of direct marketing techniques (segmentation, test matrices, etc.) and channels (direct mail, digital, direct dialogue, telephone, etc.). Experience in deploying these for challenging and complex campaign issues is an advantage.

High level / excellent skills in advising leadership and influencing organisational decisions, conflict resolution, and communication skills

High standard project management skills – the ability to design, implement, and evaluate projects.

Strong analytical skills, a high standard understanding of organisational development and business planning, KPI tracking, and analysis.

Established skills in capacity-building, training & knowledge transfer, facilitation, and presentation skills.

Experience in working with multicultural senior staff and teams and across borders.

Experience in open campaigning, building movements and working with allies and communities

Ability to lead and operate under pressure and in challenging situations, including proven ability to effectively adjust plans to rapidly changing circumstances.

Fluent in written and spoken English. Candidates speaking multiple languages are highly welcome.
