We are looking for an Assortment Manager to join the New Development department. Together with the team, you will shape fashion driven assortment ideas with a strong sense of quality & craftmanship, commercial mindset and a clear focus on growth.

The role within New Development involves close collaboration with cross functional teams to identify, develop and test new business opportunities. With a curious and analytical mindset, the role contributes to driving innovation from idea to implementation, with a strong focus on customer value, scalability and long term growth. The work requires a strong understanding of fashion assortment building, market trends and commercial drivers, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively and navigate uncertainty in fast moving environments.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As our Assortment Manager at New Development you will take full ownership of driving the end-to-end assortment strategy to deliver exceptional product ranges aligned with H&M’s key business priorities within out New Development department. You will be instrumental in setting and executing both short and long-term global strategies to deliver outstanding product assortments tailored to our customer.
Your leadership extends to the teams working across the categories oversee, providing overall direction and guidance. You hold direct responsibility for team members in various roles including Product Managers, Product Developers, Pattern makers and Design
Setting the direction, leading by example, and building strong collaborative relationships across teams and departments will be key to aligning strategies and driving the growth and success of our New Development Department.

We believe the ideal candidate has:

Deep knowledge of the fashion and/or retail industry

A keen sense of style, quality and trend awareness relevant to our customers

Demonstrated expertise in building commercially attractive assortments and product ranges. You combine fashion knowledge, strategic vision, and an ability to shape well-balanced, profitable ranges that resonate with our target customer and brand purpose.

Extensive leadership experience, with at least 10 years of proven success leading and developing high-performing teams.

Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset, demonstrated by a track record of driving growth, enhancing customer value, and increasing profitability.

The ability to define clear strategies aligned with company purpose and business goals, and the discipline to follow through on execution.

Expertise in building and managing collaborative relationships across diverse departments, including design, planning, production and support functions.

Experience and knowledge from garment production and supplier management.
You will be expected to deliver high-impact assortments that drive measurable business results, ensuring strong alignment across teams and functions. Through your leadership and expertise, you will secure the execution of assortment strategies from idea to finished product, continuously optimizing for customer relevance and profitability. You’ll be a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, shaping key assortment decisions while fostering an engaged and high-performing team that transforms vision into successful collections.
