The Department of Government belongs to the Faculty of Social Sciences at Uppsala University and comprises approximately 120 employees, including faculty, researchers, doctoral students, and administrative staff. The department’s activities primarily consist of undergraduate and graduate teaching, as well as doctoral education. In addition, extensive research is conducted at both national and international levels.
Responsibilities: The work will be carried out within the research project “Enabling climate-resilient development” (funded by the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation) led by Daniel Nohrstedt and Charles Parker, and within the Center for Natural Hazards and Disaster Science (CNDS) at Uppsala University. The position will assist with data collection for several studies, but mainly to identify countries' climate actions and experiences of naturalhazard events.
The main tasks include collection, coding, and processing of public documents, mainly from the United Nations, but also individual countries by searching for and collecting policy documents and other publicly available material. One part of the work involves organizing information already collected. The work is carried out independently and in collaboration with other project participants.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in political science or equivalent. The work requires accuracy, independence, good analytical skills and very good knowledge of English. Experience of data collection and analysis related to the project's research area is a requirement. Proven knowledge of quantitative analysis in Stata and/or R and Excel.
