Are you a Year 10 or 11 student with a passion for STEMM and a dream of making a difference in medical research? The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute invites you to apply for our exciting High School Work Experience Program - a unique opportunity to step inside one of Australia's leading medical research institutes and experience science in action!
- Insight into real lab work: Observe qualified scientists in active research labs.
- Immersive learning: Explore cutting-edge cardiac research and discover the diverse fields within medical science.

- Exclusive access: Tour state-of-the-art facilities and participate in activities not available in a typical classroom.
- 2026 programs are running June 29th-July 3rd and November 23rd-27th. We are currently only accepting applications for November.
- Places are limited to ensure a deeply immersive experience.
- Open to Year 10 & 11 students endorsed by their school's careers advisor.
- Includes lab observations, tours, talks and presentations.
- Ends with a Certificate of Participation, a chance to share your feedback and an invitation to join our student network for future opportunities.
- A full week of activities, typically 9:00 am-3:00 pm.
- Program is designed to be safe, educational, and inspiring.
- Supervision throughout, with a work experience coordinator available to assist and answer questions.
- A once in a lifetime experience!
