ALTEN is now looking for a Senior Scientist, Histology of Respiratory Diseases!

Are you an experienced scientist with a strong background in histology and image analysis, ready to contribute to cutting-edge research in respiratory diseases? We are seeking a Senior Scientist where you will play a key role in advancing drug discovery through expert histological analysis.

THE ROLE

In this lab-based position, you will:

Perform and optimize immunohistochemistry, histochemistry, and in situ hybridization using automated platforms.
Utilize image analysis tools to evaluate target expression and drug effects in tissue samples.
Apply statistical methods and quality control to ensure reliable data reporting and archiving.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and support drug discovery projects.
Contribute to scientific discussions, experimental planning, and data interpretation with a focus on respiratory diseases.

REQUIREMENT:

PhD in Bioscience, Respiratory Biology, or a related field, ideally with experience in drug discovery.
Strong experimental histology skills, including immunohistochemistry, histochemistry, and in situ hybridization using automated systems.
Experience with image analysis platforms.
Knowledge of statistical methods, quality control, and data management.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to present complex data clearly.

DESIRABLE:

Understanding of respiratory diseases, including target mechanisms and pharmacokinetics.
Experience in histology scoring and histomorphometry.
Familiarity with deep learning image analysis.
Basic scripting skills (Python, R) for data modeling.
Knowledge of advanced techniques such as spatial transcriptomics, hyperflex staining, or tissue optical clearing.

TIMEFRAME: This is a consulting project, starting in September 2026.
