About the workplace The vision of University of Gävle is to be the first choice for all who want to make a difference. We offer around 60 study programmes and 330 freestanding courses in the fields of the humanities, health care and medicine, social and natural sciences and technology. University of Gävle is one of the most popular university colleges in Sweden (applicants per place). We have around 19 000 students, 750 employees, and our campus is concentrated in space in beautiful surroundings. The university focuses on four strategic research areas - sustainable urban development, health promotion, innovative learning and intelligent industry. We offer- the opportunity to work at one of Sweden's most beautiful universities,- a workplace with many employment benefits,- a university that actively works on issues such as our common working environment, clear working conditions and gender equality and equal opportunities.
The Department of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Natural Sciences provides education for engineering students and teacher training students.
We are currently seeking a postdoctoral researcher in electrical engineering.
Background
This research area focuses on the next generation of digital twins, combining physics-based modelling, measurement technology, machine learning and modern digital platforms for analysis, prediction and decision support. It also provides an opportunity to explore how emerging technologies, such as AI agents, large language models (LLMs) and other data-driven methods, can be integrated into future solutions for industrial digitalisation.
Our research focuses on technical systems and industrial processes in collaboration with industry. It is therefore common to work with industrial data from sensors and control systems. We also have excellent laboratory facilities for conducting exploratory studies.
Job description
-
Conduct experimental investigations in laboratories or in collaboration with industry.
-
Physical and data-driven modelling and control of production systems in the steel industry, which may be electro-hydraulic or electromechanical. Applications include analysis, prediction and optimisation.
-
Development and verification of models in a laboratory environment and/or using experimental data from industrial processes
-
The post includes 20% teaching and supervision of PhD students
