The Department of Chemistry - Ångström conducts research and education in the chemistry field. The department has more than 270 employees and has a turnover just over 300 million SEK. Subject description
We are seeking a highly motivated and expreienced Research Assistant to join our team working at the interface of microbiology and molecular biology. The projects focus on large scale genetic and metabolic engineering of Escherichia coli and cyanobacteria for the sustainable production of ammonia. The position offers hands-on experience with molecular cloning, cultivation of bacteria, and characterization of engineered strains, and provides the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research with applications in biotechnology and sustainable agriculture.
Work duties:

Daily routine experimental material preparation

Independently design and perform cloning in E. coli and different cyanobacterial strains

Cyanobacteria cultivation and monitoring in bioreactors
Requirements:
Applicants must have:
-
An exam within the field of biotechnology, or molecular biology.

Experience on cyanobacteria cultivation in bioreactors and large scale genetic engineering, synthetic biology.

Very good oral and written in English.

Very good at documentation of experimental details.
Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.
The employment is temporary position, 6 months. Scope of employment 75 %. Starting date 6th July. Placement: Ångströmlaboratory Hus 7 plan 1.
