Haglöfs is the progressive outdoor performance brand from Sweden. Since 1914, we've been drawing outside the lines, thinking outside the box, and living outside our comfort zones. Join us on our quest to encourage exploration – both physically and mentally – by embracing the outdoors.
Join Haglöfs — Shape our merchandising function
At Haglöfs, everything we do starts with our consumers and our passion for the outdoors. We design and deliver premium products that inspire people to experience nature — always with responsibility and performance at heart.
We are now looking for a Merchandise Manager to build and lead our global merchandising function, based in Stockholm. Our merchandising function is relatively newly established, which makes this a dynamic role with real room to shape the way we work — and a central position in driving Haglöfs' continued progress.
You will take strategic ownership of merchandising across wholesale, distribution, retail, and e-commerce — ensuring the right products are in the right channels, in the right quantities, at the right time, always aligned with our financial goals, consumer needs, and brand direction. You will act as the strategic link between Product, Marketing, Buy & Supply and Sales.
What you will do
Strategy, Planning & Governance
Lead cross-channel merchandising strategy across wholesale, distribution, and DTC.
Decide, together with Product and Sales, which products should be sold in which channels — protecting our brand positioning and ensuring the right offer everywhere.
Communicate the assortment beliefs for the sales teams — direction on styles, colors, and pricing philosophy — in dialogue with Product and Marketing.
Align financial goals with buying, from high-level budgets down to seasonal purchase plans and product forecasts
Build and continuously improve merchandising ways of working, governance, and organizational structure.
Insights, Data & Tools
Improve data points, KPIs, and analytical capabilities, and help implement supporting tools.
Conduct market, competitor, and category performance analyses to keep our offer relevant and competitive.
Cross-Functional Alignment and Leadership
Align product planning and development with commercial needs, consumer insights, and market timing.
Ensure the seasonal commercial calendar is aligned across Product, Marketing, Sales, and DTC.
Act as the central point of contact for strategic assortment questions from Heads of Sales, Country Managers, and the DTC Merchandise Specialist.
Act as formal manager for the DTC Merchandise Specialist
Financial & Commercial Ownership
Own the global stock-solving agenda — optimize inventory levels, freshness, and availability across channels and markets, including stock moves and rebalancing between warehouses.
Optimize gross margin across the full product lifecycle — from initial pricing and buy, through in-season trading and replenishment, to markdown timing and end-of-life exit.
Set the cross-channel markdown and discount strategy, balancing sell-through, stock turn, and margin against global financial targets.
Drive inventory KPIs — weeks of cover, stock freshness, sell-through, and residual
Skills & Requirements
Who you are
Strong commercial mindset with proven experience in merchandising, assortment planning, or buying within retail/e-commerce.
Genuine passion for outdoor products, consumer experience, and premium brand building.
Analytical and data-driven, with confidence working with sales performance metrics, forecasts, and financial targets.
Highly structured with excellent planning skills — able to manage timelines, dependencies, stakeholders, and deadlines across multiple projects.
Excellent cross-functional collaborator, with the ability to influence stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Retail, and Wholesale.
Experience leading and developing a merchandising team, including planning and channel specialist functions.
Proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented mindset.
Comfortable managing and operating a function that is still being built — where the tools, data, and processes are not yet fully in place — and confident setting priorities and creating structure along the way.
Both DTC and B2B background is a plus.
You also embody our core values:
Consumer First — putting consumers at the center of decisions.
Innovative — seeking new ways of working and improving results.
Performance Driven — committed to excellence and results.
Collaborative — supporting colleagues and driving cross-functional success.
Responsible — acting with ownership, integrity, and transparency.
