Duties
The main responsibilities will be to lead and develop undergraduate and second cycle education in experimental medicine. The successful candidate will therefore be expected to be prepared to take on key leadership roles at course or program level within the Medical Programme or Biomedicine Programmes.
The position also involves teaching and evaluation within the Biomedicine Programmes and/or the first cycle of the Medical Programme (semesters 1-5) using various forms of active learning. As a guideline, teaching, educational management and educational development work is expected to account for approximately 70% of the time over time. Tasks related to third cycle studies may also be included. The teaching role is therefore the main focus of employment.
In addition to teaching, the position involves active research in experimental medicine.
The position also includes the responsibilities normally associated with the position of Senior Lecturer, such as administrative duties and internal and external elected offices at the national and international levels.
Other duties may also be required.

Assessment criteria
The applicant must have demonstrated teaching, academic, and administrative competence relevant to the discipline; particular emphasis will be placed on teaching competence during the review process.
The applicant must demonstrate teaching expertise relevant to the subject area, both in teaching and in supervision at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. This is demonstrated by a proven ability to deliver teaching and summative assessment through various forms of active learning, in accordance with the Faculty of Medicine’s educational plan. The ability to lead and develop university-level education at first- and second cycle level is advantageous. The candidate’s own development work in higher education pedagogy or research projects is also advantageous.
In addition, the applicant must demonstrate research expertise by conducting his/her own current research. Research expertise is demonstrated by publications in international scientific journals, competitive grants, and experience in national and international research collaborations. In addition, research expertise is demonstrated by relevant research programs and the potential for long-term career development.
The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively and externally with the broader community.
