The Financial Controller role t Natixis Sweden Branch is a critical on-site finance position responsible for the overall financial operations and integrity of the branch, which operates as a key part of an EU head office. The position demands a highly qualified accountant with significant, demonstrated experience in a similar capacity, possessing expert knowledge of financial accounting principles and deep familiarity with complex CIB (Corporate and Investment Banking) business lines and financial products. A strong, up-to-date understanding of Swedish local regulations
Main Responsibilities

Maintain robust, compliant, and accurate financial management for the branch, ensuring strict adherence to both Swedish and EU regulatory frameworks.

Oversee all daily financial operations, including transaction processing, reconciliation, and control activities.

Engage in proactive and strategic financial planning to ensure seamless alignment and integration with Head Office financial objectives and reporting requirements.

Ensure the timely and accurate production and control of daily P&L statements, with a focus on robust variance analysis and proactive identification of potential risks and opportunities. **

Generate essential Management Information (MI) related to revenue, portfolio activities, and key performance indicators, providing insightful commentary and forward-looking analysis.

Drive efficiency and accuracy through the identification and implementation of automation opportunities within financial processes.

Lead and execute comprehensive financial and regulatory reporting, including the preparation of annual and quarterly group accounts, ensuring meticulous balance sheet control and the timely submission of Group Financial accounts to the Swedish registration of Companies. **

Manage all finance-related regulatory reporting and tax compliance, encompassing corporation tax, VAT, PILLAR 2, and CbCr, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

Develop and present monthly management accounts, detailed budgets, forecasts, and strategic financial plans, providing comprehensive commentary, insightful analysis of financial data, key trends, and future projections.

Act as the primary technical expert and point of contact for all tax reporting and compliance matters, advising on the financial impact of legislative changes and ensuring proactive mitigation strategies are in place.

Serve as a recognized "Expert Leader" within the branch for financial matters, offering expert technical assistance, guidance, and training to other departments, and managing intricate financial transactions with precision

Collaborate effectively with both onshore and offshore Finance departments to ensure seamless integration and knowledge sharing.

Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency, control, and effectiveness of the branch's financial functions. **

Assist in assessing the financial and accounting impact of any changes arising from changes in legislation and Financial Reporting Standards.

Annual accounts, quarterly group accounts, balance sheet control

Submitting the Group Financial accounts to Swedish registration of Companies

Daily P&L, monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, strategic plans

Commentary and analysis of the figures, trends and projections

Finance related regulatory reporting:

Reporting to the SFSA

Reporting to the Swedish Central Bank

Tax compliance:

Direct tax: Corporation tax returns.

Indirect tax: VAT returns

Other: PILLAR 2, CbCr et al.
Key Internal/External Relationships:

Internal: Natixis Sweden Branch Management, Head Office Finance Teams (EU), UK Finance Team, other relevant business lines within the branch.

External: Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (SFSA), Swedish Central Bank, Swedish Registration of Companies, external auditors, tax advisors.
Fully Qualified Accountant with a proven track record of success in financial accounting, accounting control, and financial management within a banking or financial services environment.- Demonstrated experience and very strong understanding of Swedish local regulatory requirements specific to an EU banking branch (e.g., SFSA regulations).
- Extensive experience with Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) business lines and a deep understanding of financial products (e.g., derivatives, loans, capital markets instruments).
- Proven experience in managing the full cycle of financial reporting, from daily P&L to annual statutory accounts.
- Strong track record in tax reporting and compliance, including direct and indirect taxes, and familiarity with Pillar 2 and CbCR reporting frameworks.
- Experience with geographically dispersed business lines and complex control methodologies.
