Amazon’s Legal Department is looking for a talented technology or procurement lawyer to support Amazon Web Services (AWS) in selling to public sector and commercial sector customers throughout the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, with a primary focus on supporting AWS in Sweden. AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing industry, providing AI and IT infrastructure services, such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, and more to private and public sector customers.
Key job responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and advising on strategic technology service agreements, public procurement and compliance matters involving public and commercial customers, as well as providing legal support for local and regional services and initiatives. The role will also involve ongoing legal counsel and regulatory interpretation and guidance for senior executives and other business and legal team members on a variety of public procurement, product development, operational, security, compliance, data protection and public policy matters.
We are looking for a candidate who is proactive, entrepreneurial, enjoys being challenged, has strong technology and communication skills, and demonstrates sound, pragmatic judgment in ambiguous situations.
This position is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Some regional and international travel will be required.
A day in the life
You will work with various teams within the AWS organization. Our lawyers value working alongside and in person with their business colleagues and local legal teams to solve a constant flow of novel challenges in a growing and exciting business. AWS empowers millions of customers worldwide to build, innovate, and scale their businesses through our comprehensive cloud computing platform.
You will be a legal and thought partner for your colleagues on day-to-day matters as well as long-term strategic issues. You will own drafting, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements with public sector customers, enterprise customers, channel partners, and technology vendors and advise on public procurement procedures. You will pioneer AI-driven transformation of legal operations, improving contract review cycles, eliminating manual bottlenecks, and deploying advanced research tools that deliver insights in minutes instead of hours. Your innovations will multiply our legal function's impact, enabling faster decisions, consistency, and proactive risk mitigation that keeps us ahead of emerging challenges. Working directly with colleagues in the business, you will serve as lead counsel on strategic sales transactions, and partnership agreements while helping manage existing commercial relationships.

As part of the team, you will participate in team-wide meetings, departmental goals, and collaborative projects. In this role, you will have access and visibility to business leadership. Work spans transactional, regulatory, and advisory support.
- Qualified to practice law in Sweden.
- Minimum of 5+ years post-qualification legal experience.
- Previous work experience in a law firm, government, or in-house at a technology company.
- Transactional experience, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Professional fluency in English, written and spoken.
- Familiarity with cloud computing, IT infrastructure and telecommunications policies, laws, and regulations.
- Familiarity with AI tools and capabilities
- Experience with IT transactions, including services agreements.
- Experience supporting public sector procurement.
- Experience engaging with policy makers, regulators, government contracting officials, system integrators, prime contractors, subcontractors, and resellers.
- Curiosity about the way things work and proclivity to innovate and simplify.
