We are looking for an Experienced Compliance Officer to join the Markets Compliance team in Sweden. The team provides objective oversight of compliance risk management and governance, assisting the executive management to promote a robust compliance culture within the bank as well as acting as a trusted advisor to the business.
The Markets & Transaction Banking Compliance team is a well-established team within Group Compliance, comprised of 9 employees located across the Nordics and has a physical presence on the trading floors in all locations. The team covers the business areas of Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Research and Transaction Banking.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for providing compliance advice to stakeholders within the Markets Business Unit as well as leading and supporting in monitoring and reporting on the risk profile of Markets in relation to Compliance risks. You will be supporting Danske Bank and its employees in in complying with relevant and applicable laws, regulations and ethical standards and mitigate the Bank’s Compliance risk – while you’ll also:
- Lead and drive collaboration with and advise the Markets business and management on the identification, assessment, mitigation and reporting of Compliance risks and the implementation of relevant policies and instructions
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with senior Markets business stakeholders through delivery of pragmatic, timely advice on all compliance issues, providing appropriate challenge when required
- Maintain and share a thorough understanding of the Markets business, policies, processes and instructions to ensure the impact of regulatory issues can be effectively assessed
- Determine the impact assessment of current and new regulation on business activities and products
- Guide the development, implementation and maintenance of an operating framework for identification, management, monitoring and reporting of compliance risks and issues
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a motivated seasoned professional, who’s adept at handling tasks with initiative, a great team player and interested in contributing to the further development of the Markets Compliance function. You are a proactive professional who enjoys stakeholder management. You are comfortable in a dynamic environment and have an ability and curiosity for understanding complex issues. You also bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in related fields such as Business, Finance, Economics or Law or equivalent would be an advantage
- 5+ years’ experience working within the financial services sector, in either front office, such as Sales & Trading, Back/Middle Office or Compliance specifically advisory
- Professional qualifications in regulations and/or products e.g. ICA, CISI, ICMA, SwedSec are preferred
- Strong understanding of Swedish Capital Markets, specifically in Equities and/or Fixed Income. Familiarity with the Digital Assets and/or Commodities would be an advantage
- Solid understanding of applicable regulations including any local requirements e.g. MiFID and MAR
- Comfortable with public speaking and training large groups
- Fluency in spoken and written Swedish and English is required
To do well in the role, you will need to be structured, have great collaboration skills, and a very high level of integrity.
This position is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Danske Bank supports a high degree of workplace flexibility (our team is currently using a hybrid working model, where we work at least 3 days a week in the office). This role does not include a relocation allowance for candidates who are not based in Sweden.
