We’re looking for an experienced Technical Manager to lead the safe, efficient and sustainable operation of one of our flagship assets. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring the asset remains compliant, operationally resilient and future-ready through the delivery of technical maintenance, capital projects, sustainability initiatives and long-term asset strategies.
Working closely with the General Manager and wider Centre Management team, you'll lead a team of technical professionals, manage key supplier relationships and oversee major projects that enhance both asset performance and customer experience. You'll also take ownership of the site's Long-Term Energy Action Plan (LTEAP) , helping drive our Better Places 2030 sustainability ambitions.

Lead, develop and motivate the Technical Management team, setting clear priorities and driving high performance.
Ensure the safe, efficient and compliant operation of all building systems, infrastructure and technical services.
Manage operational and capital expenditure budgets, ensuring effective financial control and alignment with business objectives.
Take ownership of the asset's Long-Term Energy Action Plan (LTEAP), delivering energy efficiency, carbon reduction and sustainability initiatives in line with Better Places 2030.
Oversee Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes to maximise asset reliability, compliance and long-term value.
Deliver refurbishment, maintenance and infrastructure projects safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Lead contractor and supplier performance, driving service excellence, innovation and value for money.
Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, health and safety and environmental requirements, including audits, inspections and authority visits.
Lead the site's fire safety and systematic fire protection programme.
Support tenant fit-outs and construction projects, providing technical expertise and ensuring compliance with asset standards.
Build strong partnerships with tenants, contractors, local authorities and key stakeholders to support operational excellence.
Drive procurement and tender processes for technical services and maintenance contracts.
Develop and maintain a long-term technical CAPEX roadmap aligned with asset priorities and investment plans.
Play an active role in business continuity, crisis management and emergency response activities.
Partner with operational, commercial and sustainability teams to deliver strategic asset objectives and continually enhance the customer experience.
What skills, experience, and knowledge will you need to be successful?
We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded leader who combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative and customer-focused approach.
You'll bring:
Significant experience in technical, facilities, engineering or asset management within the real estate, retail, commercial property or mixed-use sectors.
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire teams and drive performance in a complex operational environment.
Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance management, statutory compliance, health and safety legislation and technical operations.
Experience managing contractors, suppliers and service partners, with a track record of delivering high-quality outcomes.
Strong financial acumen, including experience managing OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
Experience delivering technical projects, asset improvement programmes and sustainability initiatives.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
A structured, organised and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
A relevant qualification in engineering, facilities management, building services, health and safety or a related discipline would be advantageous.
