Sales Associate Marketing Impact Store Coordinator
About the role
This is primarily a Sales Associate position with additional responsibilities in Marketing and Impact. You will spend a significant part of your time on the shop floor supporting customers and daily store operations, while also contributing to community and environmental initiatives.
This is a full‑time position (40 hours per week). Sixteen hours per week will be dedicated to marketing and impact work, with the remaining hours spent on the shopfloor. The role includes evening shifts and working one weekend per month.
Shopfloor activity
A key part of this role is working as a Sales Associate on the shop floor. You will stay closely connected to customers and the store team, ensuring all initiatives remain grounded in the daily retail environment. This also supports authentic storytelling and strong collaboration within the team.
Key Responsibilities
This role combines the implementation of global (HQ-led) initiatives with locally driven activities tailored to the store’s community.
- Sales Associate responsibilities (core part of the role)
Provide excellent in-store customer experience in line with Patagonia’s values. Support daily store operations and collaborate with the team. Act as a key presence on the shop floor and maintain a strong connection with customers and their needs.
- Community engagement coordination
Lead the coordination of the store’s community engagement and local partnerships during allocated Marketing Impact hours. Build and maintain relationships with local NGOs, activists, and community partners, ensuring initiatives are relevant to the local area and aligned with Patagonia’s mission.
- Campaign and storytelling execution
Support the delivery of Patagonia’s marketing and environmental campaigns in-store. Translate global campaigns into meaningful local actions and contribute to clear, engaging storytelling that resonates with customers.
- Planning, alignment and reporting
Organize and plan community and impact activities, including calendars and basic budget tracking. Capture key learnings from activities and share insights to help improve future initiatives.
- Team Enablement Internal Alignment
Work closely with the Store Manager to integrate community and environmental initiatives into the overall store direction. Help inform and engage the store team, encouraging participation and consistent storytelling.
Skills and Competencies
- Full understanding of customer service and retail execution, applied consistently on the
shopfloor while maintaining strong brand and service standards.
- Good understanding of retail operations, ensuring accurate POS execution and consistent
execution of merchandising and store standards.
- Good understanding and/or developing skills in community engagement and local
partnership coordination, applied in a purpose-driven retail context.
- Good understanding in coordinating retail store marketing campaigns and storytelling,
translating global direction into locally relevant in-store execution.
- Good understanding and/or developing skills in planning, organization, and
prioritization, enabling the balance of shopfloor responsibilities with Marketing Impact
deliverables.
- Full understanding or full expertise in collaboration and communication, enabling
effective alignment with store teams, EMEA stakeholders, and US-based partners
