Telecommunication project involving the installation of control, safety and information technological systems in tunnel environment. We are searching for dynamic people, ready to learn and contribute as part of an international and multidisciplinary team.
Searching for a professional with at least 2 years of experience in the programming of PLCs (Programmable Logical Controller) and HMIs (Human-Machine Interface) in real environments, including the design and development of programming structures and integration of I/O signals within the overall PLC’s logic.
The candidate will participate in an ongoing, quick-development infrastructure project of relevance to the general public, having direct contact with real systems that shall be put into real operation at the project’s end. The candidate will have the chance to contribute through the life cycle of the Control systems deployment, from preliminary conception of the PLCs programming structure, HMI graphical design, logic development, and up to and including the final testing and commissioning.
The candidate will become part of the programming team, working under the supervision of the programming leader, and having close coordination with the client’s technical department, as part of a collaborative approach for a coordinated deployment. The candidate shall have also growth and learning opportunities, including official internationally-recognize training certifications.
Job Description
The essential duties and responsibilities for this job:
1. Assistance to programming leader, under the overall coordination of the Control department leader.
2. Create, read, understand, and review project documents ranging from top level design documents to detailed system design.
3. Daily work on both Swedish and English and translation from/to both languages.
4. Development of PLC programming structures, based on I/O lists and project templates through Siemens TIA portal.
5. Development of PLC logic.
6. Design and configuration of HMI for PLC operation and maintenance.
7. Routinary coordination with client’s technical team, either remotely or at the client’s premises and laboratory.
8. Assistance to weekly coordination meetings.
9. Administration and daily work on client’s platforms for documentation, notifications, etc.
10. Represent company, project and/or department during project management meetings.
11. Interfacing with the project team at headquarters (Madrid).
12. This position requires occasional jobsite visits to active construction zones, in order to troubleshoot and test PLCs and HMI systems.
The requirements for this job position are:
1. Swedish native and proficiency in English with excellent verbal & written communication skills.
2. Engineering university degree (or students at their 3rd year of bachelor).
3. Proactivity and willingness to take further responsibilities.
4. Willingness to take occasional technical training.
5. Practical knowledge of TIA Portal.
6. Knowledge of PLC programming languages, including “Ladder Logic / KOP” and “SCL (Structured Control Language)”.
7. Team player: open minded, collaborative, ready to help/support when needed.
8. Extensive use of MS Office package.
9. Good time management.
10. Must demonstrate eligibility to work in Sweden.
11. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
12. Capacity to read variable and I/O signal list (Drifkort), translating them from diagrammatic and tabulated format to actual programming structures.
13. Hands-on experience in the programming of PLCs and control-related systems.
Additional valuable skills:
1. Previous experience with Siemens’ PLC programming environment and TIA portal.
2. Experience in electrical cabinets and electrical installations in general (specially related to Low Voltage and electrical signalling).
3. Knowledge in Traffic Systems such as Tolling Systems, Intelligent Transport Systems, Tunnels, etc.
4. Previous working experience in Sweden’s national authorities such as Trafikverket.
