Position Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Development Engineer to join our Affinity Evaluation qPCR Section within the Highplex Department, enabling the development of new highplex products. As Development Engineer you will participate in routine screening, optimization and development of methods as well as new product ideas in accordance with project plans and work schedules. The position involves a mix of tasks with the main focus around laboratory work, analysis, documentation and continuous improvements. In this role you will report to the Section Manager Affinity Evaluation qPCR and be based in our Uppsala headquarters.
A Day in the Life:
Actively participate in section-, project- and department activities, and development of methods and product concepts and ideas
Participate as project member in Project meetings and planning
Handle and prepare antibodies, antigens and biological samples for experiments.
Design and perform PEA-experiments, mainly using qPCR as a readout according to set plans.
Independently plan and execute laboratory work in accordance with set project plans and work schedules as well as evaluating and documenting results (Workflow mapping & improvement, read/write SOPs etc).
Develop new, lead and continuously improve existing procedures, protocols and analysis methods as well as driving improvement ideas and activities
Develop and perform verification studies and contribute to analysing data shared with customers.
Qualifications/Skills
M.Sc. in a relevant life sciences field (e.g., Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Immunotechnology) or equivalent experience.
> 3 years of documented laboratory experience with antibody based immune assays, protein biology, PEA or qPCR in an industry setting
Hands on experience of assay data analysis
Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities; able to interpret and reviewing PEA and qPCR analysis data
Experience in working with lab automation, liquid-handling robots, LIMS systems and conjugation chemistries (i.e EpMotion, Hamilton ML Prep etc)
Excellent documentation and technical writing skills
Advanced Excel and computer skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional English. Swedish proficiency is advantageous.
Ability to work cross-functionally and within multiple projects simultaneously.
