Take part in the development, maintenance and testing of embedded software systems for Envirotainer fleet of containers.
In your position as Software Design Engineer, you will act as an engineer in the field of software development, i.e., typically development followed by implementation and testing in CI approach. This includes both the development of new software systems as well as continuous improvements to the current systems.
You’ll work in a team with skilled developers of software, power systems, electronics and refrigeration, i.e., the active container components as well as mechanical engineers that work with the container body.
Tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Development of software and associated documentation.
- Development and execution of unit- and regression tests of new and modified functionality.
- Release of software packages.
- Reviewing source code and documentation.
- Consulting and supporting in matters concerning your technical field, e.g. perform investigations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and other analysis as necessary.
- Extend technical support during preparation, installation and system maintenance.
- Create professional technical documentation and present it for internal and external users.
Approve expenditures according to Envirotainer’s delegation and approval limits.
Authority to sign and approve design data if, and as, delegated by Head of Software.
As Software Design Engineer you will need competence in your field of general capabilities such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Profound C/C++ skills.
- Intermediate RTOS knowledge in embedded applications.
- Intermediate knowledge of how to test and troubleshoot software in distributed embedded systems.
- Basic Git knowledge.
- Basic Python knowledge.
- Basic Jira case handling knowledge.
- Basic Linux knowledge.
- Experience of using AI tools for development, testing and documentation.
- Familiar of using CI/CD development methods and tools.
- Familiar with methods and tools for concept evaluation and design reviews/assessments
- Ability to follow development processes.
- Ability to prepare plans for your own individual/independent tasks
- Understanding of requirements (e.g. environmental requirements) and familiar with methods and tools for verification
- Battery systems (charging algorithms and power distribution)
- Electrical circuits (analogue/digital interfaces and measuring chains)
- Control systems

BSc. or equivalent and a track record, with at least 1,5 years’ experience, of working within technical disciplines in software development and testing of embedded systems.
Documented skills within your technical field, i.e. experience of applying your competence in actual design tasks.
You will need to be proficient in English as this is the corporate language and the role may include international contacts.
This role is located in our R&D facility in Rosersberg, north of Stockholm. Limited travels can be expected.
