We are looking for a Tech Artist to join a small, fast-moving team working on Unreal Engine 5 projects. This is a hands-on role where you'll help bridge art and technology, creating tools, workflows, shaders, rigs, and visual systems that empower the team to build better games.
You'll be part of a tight-knit team of around 3–5 people. Together, you'll experiment, iterate, and solve creative and technical challenges across a variety of exciting projects. We're looking for someone who enjoys finding smart solutions, takes initiative, and thrives in an environment where everyone contributes beyond their specialty.
This is an in-house position, as such candidates must be able to work in Stockholm, Sweden.
Create and maintain Control Rigs and animation systems in Unreal Engine 5
Build and maintain character rigs, skinning setups, and procedural animation solutions
Develop and optimize Niagara effects, including custom modules
Create shaders and materials using Unreal's Shader Graph and custom HLSL code
Collaborate closely with artists and programmers to develop efficient art pipelines and workflows
Prototype technical solutions that improve visual quality, performance, and production efficiency
Help identify and solve technical challenges across multiple disciplines
3+ years of experience as a Technical Artist or similar role in game development
Strong experience with Unreal Engine 5
Extensive experience with Control Rig
Strong rigging and skinning knowledge
Experience creating procedural animation systems
Experience building Niagara systems and custom Niagara modules
Experience creating shaders using Unreal's Material Editor / Shader Graph
Strong proficiency in HLSL for both Niagara and shader custom nodes
Good understanding of optimization and real-time rendering
Good communication skills in English
Experience building artist tools and improving production workflows
Knowledge of animation pipelines and character workflows
Familiarity with profiling and rendering optimization
Experience working with version control (Git, Perforce)
Basic 3D art modeling skills
Experience with Houdini or procedural content generation
Python or other scripting experience
Experience working in small indie teams
Experience shipping one or more games in Unreal Engine
