Research at the Department of Molecular Biosciences, The Wenner-Gren Institute (MBW) experimentally addresses fundamental problems in molecular cell biology, integrative biology, and infection and immunobiology. The laboratory of Docent Deniz M. Özata Karlsson seeks an ambitious, talented, and creative postdoctoral trainee with strong expertise in computational biology and male germ cell biology. Ozata lab studies to understand how male germ cells develop into sperm at molecular and cellular level. Specifically, Ozata lab studies the evolutionary function of pachytene piRNAs and the regulatory mechanisms underlying timely expression of genes during sperm development.

Analyses of high-throughput sequencing data; particularly, single-cell multiomics, ATAC-seq, CUT&RUN, PRO-seq and RNA-seq

Wet lab experimentations; particularly in high-throughput library preparations

Mouse experimentations.
Researchers are appointed primarily for purposes of research and must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.
In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills, and if the candidate possesses:

Strong expertise in analyses of high-throughput sequencing data; particularly, single-cell multiomics, ATAC-seq, CUT&RUN, PRO-seq and RNA-seq

Strong understanding of male germ cell development

Good skillset in wet lab experimentations; particularly in high-throughput library preparations.

Good skillset in mouse experimentation.
This is a full-time, indefinite-term position with a six-month trial period. Start date as per agreement.
