Tomorrow’s software engineers deserve more than yesterday’s interviews. Proxify is Europe's largest network of vetted software developers. Companies come to us when they need an engineer who can contribute from week one. We find that person, vet them thoroughly, and match them. 20,000 applicants apply each month, and we need to pick the best 200 out of them.
Our vetting isn't a step in the process. It is the product.
Sometimes we pick the wrong developer. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, a client's roadmap slips and a good engineer ends up somewhere they shouldn't be. Sometimes, that costs us the client for good.
It's also getting harder to tell the difference. Software Engineers build alongside AI agents all day now. An engineer who can't recall a sorting algorithm might be the best reviewer you've ever worked with. The one who aces the whiteboard might ship code they don't understand the impact of. The old signals are getting noisier, and nobody has agreed on the new ones.
What we do have is one of the richest datasets anywhere on how software engineers perform: 20,000 applications a month, a network of 6,000, and engagement data on every one of them – who thrived on the job, who struggled, and why.
Nobody has worked out yet what that data actually predicts. Most people with strong opinions about technical hiring never get the chance to test them on a dataset like this.
Can you help us pick the right 200 out of 20,000?
As our Technical Talent Evaluation Lead, you'll own how Proxify identifies exceptional engineers in this new reality.
You will create better ways to understand how applicants think, build, review, debug, and make decisions. This may include technical interviews, tests, realistic work simulations, AI-enabled methods, and new formats that do not exist yet.
This is a senior individual-contributor role. You will own the direction end-to-end: what we evaluate, how we evaluate it, and how we scale it. Nobody is handing you a spec. You will report to the VP of Assessment and work closely with different teams influencing our technical evaluations today.
Your work will shape the experience of thousands of applicants every month.
Design evaluations. Build interviews, tests, work simulations, and scoring guides, including formats that do not exist yet.
Rethink evaluations for the AI era. Decide what matters when software engineers work with AI agents daily: directing and reviewing an agent, catching wrong output, debugging code they didn't write.
Use AI in the work itself. Build and maintain technical content, improve consistency between interviewers, and support better decisions at volume.
Prove what works. Connect evaluation results with real engagement performance, filter signal from noise, A/B test, and scale what works.
Make it hold at scale. Set the standards and quality controls for fair evaluations across thousands of applicants a month.
Strong analytical skills. You’re data-driven and understand reliability, consistency, bias, and predictive value.
Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools, and a clear view of how they are reshaping software development.
A practical point of view on where technical evaluation should go, and how you’d test it.
The communication skills to set direction and influence people without formal authority.
Get this right, and the right engineer gets a career-defining opportunity, and clients get stronger teams. Get it wrong, and you already know what that costs.
You'll work at the intersection of software development, AI, data, and product. You will have the freedom to challenge old hiring habits, test better ideas, and build the system that decides how technical talent gets recognized.
