Junior / Mid-Level Test Engineer – Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH)
Help Shape the Future of Quieter, More Comfortable Heavy Vehicles
Are you early in your engineering career or building your next step as a mid-level NVH engineer? Do you enjoy understanding how products behave, sound, and feel in real-world conditions? This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with complete vehicles in advanced development and validation projects within the heavy vehicle industry.
We are looking for a Junior/Mid-Level NVH Test Engineer who is eager to grow, take responsibility, and develop within a highly technical and collaborative environment.
About the Role
You will join a Verification & Validation testing environment focused on Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) performance for complete vehicles and components. The work includes both conventional and electrified vehicle platforms.
Typical testing activities include interior and exterior noise measurements, vibration and durability testing of components, and laboratory-based rig testing such as modal analysis and sound power measurements.
You will gradually take full ownership of your test activities — from planning and selecting methods and equipment, to execution, analysis, and reporting. Most testing is performed at proving grounds, with additional work at development and production sites.
You will collaborate closely with engineers from multiple disciplines and be part of a supportive team where knowledge sharing and teamwork are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Support and execute NVH testing on complete vehicles and components
Perform interior and exterior noise measurements
Conduct vibration and durability testing
Carry out rig tests such as modal analysis and sound power evaluation
Analyze measurement data using signal processing and frequency-based methods
Document results and present findings in technical reports
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams
Learn and develop toward increasing technical ownership of test activities
Qualifications
MSc in Sound & Vibration, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent
Basic to solid understanding of NVH measurement techniques (microphones, accelerometers, DAQ systems)
Knowledge of signal analysis and frequency-domain methods (experience level adjusted for junior/mid profile)
Understanding of sound propagation, absorption, and transmission loss
Awareness of noise generation in mechanical systems (e.g. motors, gears, fans, engines)
Good English communication skills
Merits (Nice to Have)
Experience with buses or other heavy-duty vehicles
Bus driving license
Experience with NVH tools such as Müller-BBM PAK
Experience with Head Acoustics Artemis
Personality & Mindset (Very Important)
We place strong emphasis on who you are as a person and how you approach your work. We believe technical skills can be developed — but mindset and attitude are key to long-term success.
We are looking for someone who is:
Curious and eager to learn new technical areas
Analytical, structured, and methodical in problem-solving
Positive and resilient when facing complex engineering challenges
Collaborative and supportive in team environments
Comfortable asking questions and taking initiative
Responsible and willing to grow into greater ownership over time
Motivated by understanding real-world technical systems
About the Assignment
This is a junior-to-mid-level engineering role in a highly technical NVH environment within the heavy vehicle industry. You will work on real development challenges that directly impact vehicle comfort, sound quality, and overall product performance.
You will be part of a team that values collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement — with strong support from experienced engineers while you develop your expertise.
