Digital Foundations is part of GKN Aerospace Engine’s new IT & Digitalization organization and serves as a cornerstone in enabling the organization’s digital ecosystem. The function is responsible for establishing and maintaining the core capabilities that underpin secure, efficient, and scalable operations across all business domains.
It delivers a robust and compliant technology backbone that empowers innovation and agility without compromising security, operational integrity, or regulatory compliance. Through the standardization and future‑proofing of key technology foundations - including data governance, information security, data analytics and digital workplace solutions.
We are looking for a Digital Workplace Lead who is passionate about enabling a modern, seamless, and productive digital work environment. In this role, the Digital Workplace Lead will play a key part in empowering the business to work smarter and faster through integrated collaboration tools, automation, and strong user adoption. The position focuses on creating a digital workplace where employees can collaborate, communicate, and perform at their best -anytime and anywhere - while ensuring that technology becomes a natural and valued part of everyday work.
The Digital Workplace Lead will be responsible for coordinating, supporting, and continuously improving the organization’s digital workplace services, with a strong focus on Microsoft 365 and end-user productivity solutions. This includes driving the adoption and optimization of collaboration and communication tools such as Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive, as well as supporting transitions and enhancements in communication platforms.
The role involves coordinating end-user computing capabilities to deliver a consistent and high-quality user experience across devices and locations. A key part of the responsibility is also to support automation initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce manual work, and improve efficiency across the organization.
The Digital Workplace Lead will work closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure that solutions meet user needs and align with overall digital strategy. Driving user adoption, improving the digital employee experience, and ensuring that tools are intuitive and effectively utilized are central to the role. The position contributes to higher productivity by combining coordination, technology understanding, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate has experience within digital workplace technologies and a strong understanding of how modern tools can support collaboration, communication, and productivity. The candidate demonstrates a user-centric mindset, with the ability to bridge business needs and IT solutions. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as the role requires coordination across multiple teams and functions.
The candidate is proactive, structured, and solution-oriented, with a natural drive to improve ways of working through technology. An interest in automation, digital adoption, and continuous learning is important, as well as the ability to combine coordination skills with a focus on user experience and value creation.
Requirements
- Proven ability to define and drive digital workplace strategy and lead cross-functional initiatives
- Experience working with Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
- Experience with collaboration and communication tools
- Understanding of end-user computing environments
- Basic experience with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps or similar)
- Understanding of digital workplace concepts and user adoption
- Ability to coordinate across business and IT stakeholders
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Desirable
- Experience with digital adoption tools and change management
- Knowledge of device management and modern workplace security
- Experience supporting automation initiatives
- Familiarity with Agile ways of working
- Understanding of user experience (UX) within digital tools
- Experience working in larger organizations
