Sambla Group is a fintech company with a clear goal – to be your trusted financial partner. We’ve grown into one of the fastest-growing fintech companies - bridging the gap between borrowers and lenders - thanks to the 500+ amazing people who work here.
As a Data Engineer at Sambla Group you will play a key role in building and maintaining the systems that power data-driven decision making across the company. You'll join a central Data Platform team, and work closely with an Engineering Manager and a Product Manager, contributing to everything from reliable data pipelines to enabling self-serve analytics and putting data to work in our operational tools.
We're building a modern, AI-native data platform, and we're looking for someone who doesn't just adapt to new tooling but actively drives how we adopt it. That means using AI-assisted development in your day-to-day work, exploring where LLMs and intelligent automation can make our platform smarter, and helping set the standard for how the team works with these tools going forward.
You will work with modern cloud-native technologies on GCP - including BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, Cloud Build and Artifact Registry - alongside tools like DBT, Prefect and Terraform.
What you'll work on:
Design, build and maintain data pipelines and integrations (streaming, batch, API-based) that feed our data products
Develop and maintain our Data Warehouse and contribute to data platform improvements
Ensure data quality, data governance and GDPR compliance
Architect scalable and secure solutions in GCP and BigQuery
Use AI tooling to accelerate development and explore where it can add value across our data work
Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams
Must have:
At least 3 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role
Strong Python skills (e.g. Polars, Flask/FastAPI or similar)
Strong SQL skills — CTEs, window functions, complex joins
Hands-on experience with GCP or AWS, preferably GCP
Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
Ability to manage and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have:
Experience with dbt and data modelling concepts (dimensional modelling, SCD etc.)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI or similar)
Experience with observability, monitoring and alerting for data systems
Background in fintech or financial data
Experience mentoring or coaching colleagues
We might be a little different from most companies. Instead of defining personal values, we’ve built a shared way of working - a rhythm that guides how we collaborate, support our customers, and move forward together. We call it Drive & Jive - a shared rhythm that creates momentum through direction, collaboration, and human connection.
Please note that our recruitment process will take a short summer break during July. We’ll start reviewing applications and scheduling interviews again in the first week of August – we’re really looking forward to hearing from you!
Applicants must already have the legal right to work in Sweden, as we do not provide visa sponsorship or relocation assistance for this position.
