As a Design Engineer, you will work at the intersection of integrated optics, high-speed electronics, and semiconductor laser and modulator technology, contributing to innovative solutions that enable high-performance computing and ultra-high-speed fiber-optic communications.
You will be responsible for:
As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in developing advanced integrated optoelectronic devices that power next-generation communications and AI infrastructure. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will drive innovation from concept through production while contributing to new technology development and long-term product strategy.
What you will be doing:
- Design integrated optoelectronic components, including semiconductor lasers with integrated high-speed modulators.
- Develop lithography mask sets and work closely with process integration and wafer fabrication teams to implement device designs.
- Contribute to the selection of technology platforms and technical solutions for new product development projects.
- Drive the development of new technologies required to support future products and applications.
- Contribute to defining and maintaining the technology roadmap for integrated optoelectronic devices.
- Collaborate with engineering, process development, manufacturing, and product teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support device characterization, testing, and performance analysis activities as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
About you:
- MSc in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, Semiconductor Technology, or a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience; or PhD with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience within the optoelectronics or semiconductor industry.
- Broad technical knowledge of semiconductor technology and optoelectronic devices.
- Deep expertise in one or more areas related to semiconductor process technology and integrated optoelectronic devices.
- Experience in semiconductor device design, preferably within III-V material systems.
- Good understanding of InP or GaAs semiconductor process technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Swedish language proficiency is desirable.
