RUNA is a new casual fine dining restaurant in central Stockholm, where Nordic precision meets Peruvian soul. We are built on storytelling, warmth, and high-level execution.
We are seeking a skilled, creative, and organised Sous Chef to support our Head Chef in delivering exceptional food quality and a memorable dining experience. You oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain high standards of hygiene and safety, and contribute to menu development and team leadership.
At RUNA, passion matters more than a perfect CV. We look for people who want to build something with us, grow in their careers, and treat the restaurant as if it were their own. We are not interested in constant staff rotation – we invest in people who want to invest in us.
We work as one team without big egos. Everyone’s voice is heard, and we expect ideas, feedback, and contributions from all colleagues. You don’t just work for us – you work with us, and you are part of shaping what RUNA becomes.
Support the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and presenting dishes to RUNA’s standards.
Supervise and coordinate the work of line cooks and kitchen staff.
Monitor food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices in line with Swedish regulations (Food Hygiene, HACCP).
Assist with stock control, ordering, and supplier liaison to manage food costs and minimise waste.
Contribute to menu development, recipe documentation, and seasonal menu updates.
Ensure efficient kitchen workflows during service and step in on the line during peak periods.
Coach and train team members in techniques, portion control, and plating standards.
Collaborate with front-of-house on smooth service and handling of dietary requests and allergens.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory kitchen role in a busy restaurant, hotel, or catering environment.
Excellent cooking skills, with strong focus on consistency, presentation, and flavour.
Solid knowledge of Swedish food safety legislation, HACCP, and allergen management.
Natural leader who coaches rather than commands and thrives in real teamwork.
Low ego, high standards – you care more about the team and the guest than about titles.
Genuinely motivated to grow with RUNA over time, not just “have a job”.
Comfortable with stock control, costing, and basic kitchen systems; MS Office skills (Word, Excel).
Fluent in English; other languages are meritorious.
Flexible regarding evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Right to work in Sweden; willing to undertake necessary background checks.
Professional culinary qualification is a plus, but passion and proven skill are most important.
Competitive salary and clear progression opportunities towards Head Chef or senior roles.
Paid holiday, pension scheme, and staff meals.
Health insurance contribution (friskvårdsbidrag).
Ongoing training, development, and mentoring.
Supportive, inclusive workplace focused on wellbeing and work–life balance.
Employee discounts and additional perks.
Submit your CV and a short cover letter describing your experience, culinary philosophy, and availability. Include examples of menu work or links to a portfolio/social media if available.
