Do you want to work with simulation environments where your work directly affects how AD/ADAS features are tested and validated? Do you enjoy working with real sensor and fleet data, solving technical problems, and supporting teams across the organization?
Are you someone who communicates clearly, learns quickly, and stays calm when things move fast?
Apply today, no CV needed at first stage, only contact information, we’ll cover the rest later.
You will join a team within the simulation unit that works with open-loop simulations, replay, and fleet re-simulations. The team helps other teams test and validate AD/ADAS features using recorded sensor data in a controlled setup. The team consists of five people with different backgrounds, most of whom have worked together for more than three years.
This is a support-heavy role. A large part of the work is helping other teams run simulations, solve issues, and keep development moving. Many teams depend on this support, which means priorities can shift quickly and good communication matters every day.
Your mission and day-to-day tasks
In this role, you will work with both software development and daily operational support. You will help keep simulation services stable, support internal users when issues arise, and improve the tools and workflows over time. The work is varied and includes troubleshooting, development, and technical improvements.
You will work closely with internal users across the organization, understand their needs, and help them move forward. You will also contribute to making the team’s services more reliable and easier to maintain. This role suits someone who likes solving real problems and being part of a team that others rely on.
Develop and maintain tools and services for the open-loop SIL simulation framework
Support simulation jobs from CI and developers, and keep them running on a high-performance cluster
Work with replay and fleet re-simulation workflows used to validate AD/ADAS features
Troubleshoot issues, analyze root causes, and support users when problems occur
Review existing services and contribute to improving architecture and internal workflows over time
Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization and communicate clearly when priorities change
Work at the forefront of tech in one of Sweden’s biggest and most interesting, challenging and dynamic AI/ML-companies.
Collaborate with highly skilled, innovative, creative and smart people.
Work with people from all over the world, close to what science just came up with.
Enjoy a flexible work approach and a genuinely good work/life balance.
We believe you are a software developer who is comfortable in a role where technical work and support go hand in hand. You are structured, practical, and able to handle changing priorities without losing focus. You communicate clearly and work well with others, especially in situations where several teams depend on your support.
You learn quickly and approach problems in a concrete way. You enjoy understanding how systems work, fixing what is not working, and improving things step by step. You may also bring experience from helping others in technical discussions or contributing to better ways of working within a team.
Essential experience
Proficiency in Python
Experience working in Linux environments and with Bash scripting
Experience with SQL and relational database concepts
Experience with DevOps tools, preferably Git and Gerrit
Strong analytical skills and a practical approach to problem solving
Strong written and spoken communication skills in English
Nice to have, but absolutely no must
Experience with simulation systems or replay workflows
Familiarity with AD/ADAS or the automotive domain
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Jenkins
Experience working with high-performance clusters
A relevant university degree in computer engineering, mathematics, or a similar field
Familiarity with Agile ways of working, especially Scrum
Experience contributing to technical discussions, architecture improvements, or development practices in a team setting
Why this role matters
Open-loop simulation is becoming more important as AD/ADAS systems grow in complexity and more fleet data is used in development. In this role, you will work close to that core process by helping teams replay data, validate behavior, and test features in a reliable way.
This is also an area with strong future relevance. As new technologies such as agentic AI influence how software is developed and tested, efficient simulation and re-simulation workflows will become even more important.
This role may have access to sensitive information, trade secrets, and confidential data. As part of the recruitment process, the selected candidate might undergo a background check.
Our software makes a difference.
Using AI-based technology to create the ultimate driver support, we’re fighting to end car accidents and make roads safe for everyone. Every year, around 1,4 million people die in traffic while approximately 50 million people get injured. Many get disabled as a result of their injury. We can do better.
One purpose, one product.
We’re a software company dedicated to revolutionizing car safety. By designing the complete software stack for autonomous driving and advanced driver-assistance systems, we’re fighting to end car accidents and make roads safe for everyone. Zenseact was founded by Volvo Cars, and the teams are based in Gothenburg and Lund, Sweden and Munich in Germany. When we aim for zero accidents faster, we strive to speed up the transition to safe automation. This is essentially achieved by making cars updatable – like a computer or a phone. With regular software updates, a vehicle can be made safer long after its production. By accelerating improvement loops, shortening development cycles, and deploying high-capacity software quickly, we can make cars safer, and faster.
Culture with people at heart
To achieve our mission of saving lives and ending traffic accidents we must go where nobody has before. It requires us to venture into the unknown, pioneering new technology and pushing the frontier of autonomous driving. While there’s no denying our determination and expertise, we must stand united to succeed. By fostering a culture of support and enablement – a place of psychological safety where all of us can thrive – everything else will follow. We call this a people-at-heart culture. This culture means caring. It means the company cares about me, and we care about one another. It means sharing, so we give each other energy and have fun together. Our culture is also about belonging. It’s important to feel at home and that we can be ourselves at work. Finally, a people-at-heart culture means well-being. So, we enjoy the flexibility needed to be and do our best – at work and in life.
Zenseact works proactively to create a culture of diversity and inclusion, where individual differences are appreciated and respected. To drive innovation we see diversity as an asset, which means we value and respect differences in gender, race, ethnicity, religion or other belief, disability, sexual orientation or age, etc.
