Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) plays a central role in SEB’s work to prevent, detect, and respond to money laundering and terrorist financing. Within this framework, the SAR Decisioning team is responsible for ensuring that Suspicious Activity Reports are assessed, decided, and reported in a robust, timely, and compliant manner, while also strengthening quality, consistency, and the use of SAR-derived intelligence across the bank.
We are looking for a SAR Decisioning Officer to join the SAR Decisioning team. In this role, you will contribute to high-quality SAR decisioning and SAR reporting by assessing suspicion, making well-founded filing decisions, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements, and using insights from SAR work to support stronger controls, better quality, and continuous improvement.
You will perform thorough quality reviews of Suspicious Activity Reports and related case material to ensure that reporting is accurate, complete, clear, and aligned with regulatory expectations. The role includes assessing whether identified suspicion meets the threshold for reporting, making well-supported filing decisions, filing SARs in accordance with internal procedures and required timelines, and providing clear, actionable feedback to investigators and other stakeholders. You will also contribute to stronger reporting quality and consistency by analyzing thematic trends, highlighting improvement opportunities, and using SAR-derived intelligence and thematic observations to support better controls, guidance, and ways of working across the organization.
The role is based in Sweden, with Solna as the preferred location. For the right candidate, alternative locations in Sweden where the Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) function has an established presence may be considered.
At SEB, you will join an environment where professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement are central to how we work. In this role, you will work closely with experienced colleagues across Financial Crime Prevention, investigations, governance, and other control functions, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to high-impact work that strengthens SAR decisioning, reporting quality, regulatory compliance, and the bank’s broader financial crime prevention capabilities.
SEB promotes a flexible and healthy work culture. We recognize that the well-being of our colleagues is closely related to our ability to have fun and perform together. Among other things our team has the option to work remotely 1-2 days a week.
It is our fundamental belief that inclusion and diversity is crucial for our future success. We strive to have an inclusive, value-driven culture where employees feel valued, respected, and involved irrespective of who they are, what they believe or where they come from.
Since we select candidates continuously, feel free to send in your application today via the link in this ad, but no later than 2026-08-23. If you have questions about the position, please contact Mikaela Askerson at [email protected], but we will not process applications via email.
Please be aware that our final candidates undergo background checks, a process that includes for example identity control, verification of qualifications, credit checks, company engagements and criminal records checks. In some cases, we also apply random drug checks.
SEB Sweden has a redeployment responsibility, why this position might be covered by internal redeployment.
