Providing Value & Impact – SwedQ
SwedQ is a consultancy company for people who want to grow, take ownership, and solve challenges that create real business value. We work with clients across a wide range of industries and help them turn technology, data, and ideas into tangible results.
We are now looking for an experienced and versatile Data Scientist who is comfortable working across data science, analytics, optimization, software engineering, and MLOps.
One of our current opportunities has a strong focus on mathematical optimization, production-grade AI, and Google Cloud Platform. However, as a consultant at SwedQ, you should enjoy applying your skills to different industries, technical environments, and business problems over time.
You do not need to fit into a narrow box. We value specialists with broad technical curiosity—the kind of person who can understand a complex business problem, explore the data, develop the solution, deploy it, and clearly explain the outcome.
Depending on the assignment, you will:
Develop, maintain, and improve advanced data science and optimization solutions.
Build and enhance discrete optimization models, including Integer and Mixed Integer Programming models.
Productionize, deploy, monitor, and maintain AI and machine learning solutions in cloud environments.
Identify weaknesses in existing models and proactively implement improvements.
Build robust data preparation, aggregation, and feature engineering pipelines.
Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources.
Write clean, modular, tested, and maintainable Python code.
Implement MLOps and CI/CD practices for model deployment and lifecycle management.
Conduct exploratory and ad hoc analyses to support business decisions.
Present model outputs and analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Translate business requirements and stakeholder feedback into scalable technical solutions.
Collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Data Engineers, Product Managers, and business stakeholders.
We believe you have:
Several years of professional experience within data science, machine learning, optimization, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of discrete optimization, such as Integer Programming or Mixed Integer Programming.
Experience taking models beyond notebooks and operating them in a production environment.
Strong Python skills and experience building modular, production-ready software.
Strong SQL skills for data analysis, transformation, and data pipeline development.
Hands-on experience with MLOps, automated testing, deployment pipelines, and model monitoring.
Experience working with cloud-based data and machine learning platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
A solid understanding of software architecture and maintainable codebases.
Experience building data wrangling and aggregation pipelines from diverse data sources.
The ability to understand business problems and turn them into analytical or technical solutions.
Strong communication skills and confidence presenting complex findings in a clear and actionable way.
A proactive and collaborative mindset with the ability to take ownership in complex and sometimes ambiguous environments.
Experience working in Agile and cross-functional teams.
It is an advantage if you have experience with:
Optimization frameworks or solvers such as Gurobi, CPLEX, OR-Tools, or Pyomo.
GCP services such as Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, or Cloud Composer.
dbt or similar data transformation frameworks.
Containerization and orchestration using Docker or Kubernetes.
Experiment tracking, model registries, and automated model validation.
Data visualization and communicating analytical findings through dashboards or decision-support tools.
Additional areas such as forecasting, simulation, recommendation systems, or applied machine learning.
At SwedQ, we want to understand what motivates you.
Some people value stability, a fixed salary, pension, and strong benefits. Others want greater flexibility, more responsibility, or the opportunity to share in the value they help create. We shape the setup together based on your ambitions and what makes sense for both sides.
You will be surrounded by technically skilled and entrepreneurial colleagues who are happy to share knowledge, challenge ideas, and learn from one another.
You will also have the opportunity to influence SwedQ, contribute to internal initiatives, and develop your own ideas alongside your client assignments.
SwedQ is built around independence, accountability, and creating genuine value.
We are a diverse group of consultants, engineers, entrepreneurs, and problem-solvers with different backgrounds and perspectives. We support one another as colleagues and friends, while giving people the freedom to take ownership of their work.
We also make time to enjoy the journey together through dinners, activities, trips, competitions, and celebrations of both the big and small wins.
Competitive compensation with different salary models available.
Occupational pension and additional pension contributions.
Private health insurance and private healthcare.
Wellness and gym allowance.
A generous professional development budget.
Time and support for personal development and open-source initiatives.
Company car or car allowance depending on your setup.
Benefits that can make everyday life easier, including home cleaning and childcare options.
A centrally located Stockholm office close to public transport and restaurants.
Daily breakfast at the SwedQ office.
Skilled colleagues and mentors who will both support and challenge you.
Does this sound like the kind of challenge you are looking for?
