Role - Data Governance Specialist
Job Location - Stockholm, Sweden
Type of Hiring - Sub- Con and B2B Both
Duration – 3 months (with extension every quarter)
Start date – January 2026
Any Language preference – English is acceptable
Role Overview: Client is looking for a Data Governance Specialist to establish and maintain a strong data governance framework that supports compliance data quality and business objectives This role will be pivotal in defining and implementing data governance policies, and ensuring data retention strategies align with Swedish and EU regulatory requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a data governance framework and operating model for the client
- Define and enforce data governance policies, standards and procedures across business and IT teams
- Collaborate with stakeholders to embed best practices for data stewardship and lifecycle management
- Develop and monitor data quality metrics and remediation processes
- Create and maintain data retention and archival policies in compliance with GDPR and other relevant regulations
- Implement Data Retention policies on client’s Data Quality tool
- Provide training and guidance to business units on governance principles and tools
Qualifications
- Proven experience in data governance data management or related roles within financial services or regulated industries
- Strong understanding of data quality frameworks metadata management and data lifecycle principles
- Familiarity with EU regulatory requirements GDPR DORA and Swedish compliance standards
- Experience with data governance tools is a plus
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
